December 17, 201213 yr Pop music is always going to be the biggest, flashiest thing they can come up with at any given moment. Right now, it's 40 songs all over the same three dance beats. As for good, innovative stuff over the last 10 years... sure, but good and innovative have never meant that they'd be big-time stars that people would remember for ever. Jay-Z will certainly hold up through the years. Kanye will too. Unfortunately.
December 17, 201213 yr Unfortunately. Boo. Still listen to College Dropout and Late Registration all the time. Great albums.
December 17, 201213 yr Boo. Still listen to College Dropout and Late Registration all the time. Great albums. I agree with you on that, college dropout came out when I was a junior in high school and it was awesome at the time. I love pretty much everything on it, I really liked Kanye when he first came out (although he produced before he started rapping). However, I just think he's took a nose dive since those days, whether it be ego driven, commercially driven, or whatever reason. I just can't stand the dude now.

December 20, 201213 yr This list is garbage. I am so sick of the holier than thou hip hop crowd that acts like The Message, Planet Rock, Rappers Delight and all of those other top 10 songs are the GOAT. None of those songs listed by those folks in the top 10 aren't even those artist's best songs. With the exception of the top 3 songs and those 3 top 3 songs sucked when I was kid. They suck even worse now. This list is wack.

Never been a requirement for "best." Edited December 21, 201213 yr by Getslow
December 21, 201213 yr No Jay-Z or Beastie Boys? And they picked Run-DMC's 5th or 6th best song? No Whoudini or Kool Moe D? No Eazy E?
December 21, 201213 yr Author No Jay-Z or Beastie Boys? And they picked Run-DMC's 5th or 6th best song? No Whoudini or Kool Moe D? No Eazy E? Big Pimpin came in at 16. Paul Revere came in at 19. 99 Problems came in at 33.
December 21, 201213 yr No Eazy E? Straight Outta Compton is on there. He absolutely CRUSHES the last verse on that track. I absolutely have that one somewhere in my top 20, if not in my top 10. The production on it is unreal.
December 21, 201213 yr Big Pimpin came in at 16. Paul Revere came in at 19. 99 Problems came in at 33. Big Pimpin? You pick the top Jay-Z song and you go with Big Pimpin? Maybe the list is garbage?
December 21, 201213 yr As far as an all time classic goes, you would think Warren G and Nate Dogg with Regulate would be a top 10er for sure.....
