I watched some of the first half as Highlands jumped up big on the Stangs 17-6 and would go ahead by as much as 16 later in the game. I heard that the Lady Stangs cut the lead to 1 in the 2nd half.

Score was actually 55-51. I will not elaborate much more and will wait for the Big Green Horse to give his synopsis. Wait that will not happen because his team lost and he only talks about them when they win. Highlands totally outplayed Brossart for 27 minutes and then Brossart caught fire to cut the lead down to 1. They then had to foul and Leah Schaefer hit 3/4 from the line to seal the deal.

Not that I doubt you Q, but just got a text from RCC9 with 55-51. Either way text were confirming this was not even close till the 4th quarter comeback by the 'Stangs.

Good win for the Birds. A couple years ago, this wouldn't have been a close game. The new coach at Brossart and all the young talent have really turned things around.

Not that he only posts for wins, but how he does it.

 

What was a lopsided game turned out to be a thriller in the end as Brossart was able to drain several threes to get back in the game and then Highlands would turn the ball over. Too many empty trips for the Birds late in the game which cannot happen against the better teams. Really liked the play of # 12 for Brossart and # 42 for Highlands. Two kids that get after it on the court.

Sounds like it was fairly balanced scoring for HHS.

You're right! It was a balanced attack, but Daley really had some big buckets for the birds. She had a great game. Did you see the box score somewhere. I haven't seen it yet!

In the limited time I watched, it seemed that the Birds didnt take care of the ball as well as they could have. Maybe I am just not used to watching Girls basketball but it seemed they threw some errant passes into traffic many times.

 

They have some really nice scoring options down low with Scheafer and Dailey. Adler and Coffey are nice young guards who will keep getting better with experience. Both drained nice shots from behind the arc.

 

Abner provides solid leadership out front and plays hard.

 

I like this LadyBird team.
