Jumpers had a very good team in "84 (Massie, Fletcher, et. al.)

 

That 84 team for the Breds had a future national champ at TE and MT and a future 8 year NFL linebacker behind him. Tough sledding against that.

That's really good stuff per the deja vu. BTW I don't recall Jeff Brady as much in high school as I do Frank Jacobs, but then again I roomed with Frank's cousin in college (Joe).

In 84 Brady played "Rocket" against the Jumpers. Brady went wherever Fletcher went. Fletcher got 13 yards on 14 carrries. The defense gave up 6.2 points a game with seven or eight shout outs. That defense was punishing and got a lot of turnovers.

My best memory was those couple of cats standing on the sidelines that were so animated when Messmer scored the winning TD.

I will always remember the one throwing his program to the ground. They weren't happy.

Later that night a group of us watched that scene over and over, that was too funny!! They were going "ape dung" throwing their hands and stomping down the sidelines, could just imagine what they were sayin'.

I remember they lost a tough one to Newport that year 7-2. The defense was tough.
