The anti-gun group has never provided a good counter to the argument that criminals are going to have their guns whether guns are legal or illegal. So why should we make it more difficult/tough on law-abiding citizens to own a gun?

 

I believe it was Colin Cowherd, on his radio show, that said that the number of home invasions in the US is a lot lower than a lot of countries that have much stricter gun laws. Makes sense if you ask me. :idunno:

Guns are illegal in England. From everything I've read over the years, instances of gun violence are very rare in the U.K., and instances of people dying from violent one-on-one altercations is also very rare.

 

As far as outlawing them in this country, we all know that will never happen, and it's absurd for people to fear such a possibility. But if it did, the guns are already here, so it would still be relatively easy for criminals to get them through their normal means.

 

This, of course, requires logically assuming the government isn't going to spend the time, money and dangerous effort in going to every house in the country and physically taking them from the owners — think about that part really hard for a minute, as that should tell you how silly the idea of outlawing guns is. Can't put toothpaste back in the tube.

Ahh, thanks for the correction. Still, incidences of gun violence are rare there, from everything I understand. That doesn't mean there are never violent confrontations, it's just that the people tend to survive them.

Guns were never prevalent in England. Historically the only one who owned firearms, outside of farmers to protect their livestock, were nobles and aristocrats who were into hunting. There never really was a frontier in England and the country is older than guns themselves so it had little to do with their identity. It is a much different story here as firearms helped shape our history.
