BIGZIG Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 O.K. I know we have been down this road countless times and it doesn't ever seem to change but lets decide on Pendleton Cty once and for all. If whomever votes in this poll is going to continue to include PC in the Poll then lets give them the respect and the spot that they deserve. The fact that they are now ranked 6th in the NKY poll and yet they are #7 in the Statewide poll has to show just how ridiculous the people who vote in this appear to be. They are ranked in this silly poll behind 2 teams that they have beaten already (Holmes and Bishop Brossart) and even behind Holy Cross who would have no chance against PC. If they are going to be in then they have to be number 1 and if not number 1 then take them out of the poll. I'm sure all PC fans laugh out loud every week they read this poll in the Enquirer but to be honest most of them read a good paper..The Lexington Herald..
cshs81 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Ernst said if PC is considered NKY, they're the undisputed #1.

I'm sure all PC fans laugh out loud every week they read this poll in the Enquirer but to be honest most of them read a good paper..The Lexington Herald.. You can't blame the Enquirer from what I've heard. They (Enquirer) decided that Pendleton County should be officially included in the poll this year and said they notified all the coaches of that fact. However, only 5 coaches included PC anywhere on their ballot so either: A) Most coaches or whoever is filling out the ballot are not aware of that fact since the KY Post poll is different. B) Most coaches are aware and do not agree that PC is a NKY team. C) Most coaches are aware and do not think PC is a Top 10 team. D) Some coaches are not aware PC is to be included, some coaches do not agree that PC should be included. I am guessing D is the most logical explanation.
BIGZIG Posted January 19, 2006 Author Posted January 19, 2006 Ryan Ernst does a nice job at the Enquirer. Unfortunately the rest of the paper isn't to much to speak of.. If that is what he says about PC then I would be in absolute agreement with him.
All Play No Work Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 As a side note Elder has been #1 in the state Division 1 AP poll for a couple of weeks and is not even the #1 in the local Division 1 poll so go figure.
PendletonFan Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 IMO it doesn't matter how bad the Enquirer ranks Pendleton because as of right now they ranked higher in any STATE poll you look at over any NKY team.

I just wish they would jsut get it straight. Right now Pendelton is 6th behind Holy Cross, but I also think Holy Cross should be ahead of Brossart right now.

Pendleton not being ranked #1 in NKY, just because of some old 9th region favoritism is a joke!! HC did beat BBHS, so probably deserve to be ranked ahead of them. Maybe they'll meet again--How about the All "A" finals??

BGGreen Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I'd be happy with that :dancingpa I'm sure the 'Stangs would welcome a rematch on a dry, neutral court!!
BigStud Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I'm sure the 'Stangs would welcome a rematch on a dry, neutral court!! But would the front court like to rematch Scruggs bows. :fight:
BGGreen Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 But would the front court like to rematch Scruggs bows. :fight: He'd foul out in the first quarter, but they'd still have to shoot better than 2-21 from behind the arc to win!!
oldcat94 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 We can't blame the Enquirer for 3 or 4 coaches putting PC on their ballot, Holmes and BB have already felt the wrath of the #6 cats, ask them if they feel differently, also had they not made it state last year and in position to repeat this year it would not be an issue, everybody loves a winner, but 9th region runs so deep in the nky poll it is hard to be the new kid on the block
Mustang Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 The Enquirer needs to adopt the Kentucky Post's parameters - Boone, Kenton, Campbell - Period!
Sharp Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 The Enquirer needs to adopt the Kentucky Post's parameters - Boone, Kenton, Campbell - Period! Agree :thumb: Especially since PC does not play in the district with the Campbell Co. teams anymore.
