Karl Towns' Announcement Set?

Raise your hand if you think schools will stop recruiting him.

Heck, some people say "recruiting doesn't start until you commit."

Not really the case in hoops, although it has been trending a bit more towards that football mentality of late...

Didn't realize Towns was such a superb student, with a 4.3 GPA. Ben Roberts reporting on Twitter what Clizzy said about possible reclassification to 2014. But Roberts also says there is a possibility Towns moves to the 2013 class? How is that possible?

He is originally a 2014 kid, so he would just have to go the route Wiggins is now to finish a year early...

I would say 99% Kentucky 1% anywhere else.

Even more, there’s a strong possibility Towns will reclassify to 2014. He’s a straight-A student and has already been taking college level courses at St. Joseph’s. Jerry Smith, the school’s athletic director, all but spilled the beans that Towns would be a Cat:

“He’s a good kid. You’re going to really enjoy him,” Smith said. “He’s really personable and he’s going to light up the whole dorm. Cal’s going to have his hands full with this kid.“

Above is from an article on KSR.

Heard today that Towns is already 17 years old. If that's the case a jump to 2014, though improbable, might not be impossible. Imagine IF Towns moved to 2013 and he and Wiggins both ended up at UK.

The jump to 2014 is inevitable...

If he was a 2014 kid originally, I don't see why he wouldn't make the jump to 2013. Seems to be the popular thing to do these days.

Wiggins is the only kid in memory at all that is skipping a grade. Highly uninformed post...

So Dakari Johnson, and Nerlens Noel didn't reclassify?

They moved back to their original class. Same as every other kid sans Wiggins...

^^ I was unaware that those were their original classes. Pardon my lack of knowledge, please?

I'll let it slide this time... :thumb:
