Marlins trade Josh Johnson and others to Blue Jays

Featured Replies

Deal involves Josh Johnson, Mark Burhele, and possibly Jose Reyes.

I'm telling ya the Marlins ownership really tricked the citizens of Miami into getting a new arena. This team is going to be flat awful this year.

So the Marlins got nobody in return?:lol:

John Buck, and Emilio Bonifacio also in the deal. right-hander Henderson Alvarez and left-hander Justin Nicolino, Yunel Escobar and Adeiny Hechavarria also in the deal going to the Marlins.

Bonifacio, Josh Johnson, Mark Burhele, and possibly Jose Reyes. Might as well send the rest of the team. Stanton is the only good one left.

Nobody worth mentioning, as usual.

Maybe the Reds could work a deal for Bonifacio now.

According to Bowden and a few others, the minor leaguers the Marlins got in return are all very good, but not sure who can play now.

Toronto will have a loaded lineup....

C - Buck

1B - Eddie Encarnacion

2B - Bonifacio

SS - Reyes

3B - Lawrie

LF - Joey Bats

CF - Rasmus

RF - ?? Drawing a blank

Rajai Davis. I think Bautista plays RF though.

That would be a nice short term solution.

For what it's worth this deal has not been approved yet by the Commisioner's office. I'm not saying it won't be but it would not be the first time a fire sale has been voided.

Marlins ownership is a joke

“@MarcHochman: How does the phone call from Marlins to Jays go? "Hey, you interested in all our good players?" "Who you want in return?" Doesn't matter.”

It'll be interesting to see what Miami tries to do this offseason. I suspect they'll try to lure Josh Hamilton to South Beach (shouldn't be too hard).

From Miami's perspective, I am a bit confused. It seems like they would have been able to get more in return had they broken up their players a little bit. I really wish the Reds would have gone after Bonifacio.

Staton is pretty pee'd off at the Marlins front office, just check his twitter. Hah

The things they've done after they've won titles and now what they've done after bilking the city..... That franchise is often a blight on the face of the MLB.
