November 6, 201213 yr This exact same thing happened to my wife about 2 years after we got married. She woke up one morning and the diamond was gone. We tore the bed apart, searched the floor on our hands and knees and found nothing. My mom in law mentioned St Anthony, and said she'd pray to him. 2 days later, just when we were getting ready to go look for a new diamond, she completely emptied the diaper bag looking for something else, and wouldn't you know it, the missing diamond was sitting at the bottom of the bag. Same here. I lost my wedding ring for about 5 months. I've only been married about a year. We said a little prayer and thankfully we found it.
November 6, 201213 yr The older crew at Schultz's had an amazing ability to remember faces and names. My husband bought me a ring there, and every time I would walk into that store they would say "Let me put your rings in the cleaner while you shop.". The new guy seems very standoffish and once when I was in there told a lady he would have to charge her to clean her rings. Hate to see it because I would never even consider going anywhere else when the older folks were there.
November 7, 201213 yr Author Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! We've talked to our insurance agent, and as Irish Cat has mentioned, our policy only covers fire and theft. We could get one of the endorsements, so we may think about doing that for the future. As far as looking around the house...we have. Unfortunately, some of the things she did that day, allow for the real possibility it went down the drain...literally. She did dishes (in the sink), and also took a bath. Hitting her hand on the side, could've knocked the thing out and it could've very easily gotten swept down the drain when the water was empited.
