I hate to see any game decided on penalty kicks, and especially the state title game. There has got to be a better way. Congratulations to Tates Creek on winning the state title and to Notre Dame on another great season.

2nd time a state title slips out of grasp of Panda's due to PK's.

I believe Oliva sat our her soph year due to injury or she would have been 4 year starter. In all 3 of her years they made it to the championship game, losing 2 of them to pk's. This may not be totally acurate but in the last 2 state title runs I believe her and her NDA teammates only gave up 6 goals in the playoffs. That covers approx 16 games in districts, regionals and state.

There is a move in soccer to start the ot with 11 players and then remove a player every five minutes until someone scores. 7v7 would be very interesting but I think you would see a lot of gassed players.

Great run by the Pandas! Congrats to all of the players, especially the Seniors on a fantastic season!

 

With a core of very talented Juniors and several Sophomores that saw lots of playing time this year, I expect another good year in 2013. Looking forward to seeing Brossart, Dixie, St. Henry and NCC continue to play well next season and hopefully see some of the other local schools improve so we can bring the State Title and Trophy back to Norther Kentucky, where it belongs!

I don't believe that this will happen. If it happens in World Cup Soccer, then maybe!

I like this idea. It is definitely better than a tie or PKs.

ND actually lost in the second round of PK's........Sudden death PK's....

 

Have never heard of the remove a player thought before.....very intriguing........especially if one of the teams had received a red card during the game and was already playing a person down.........

 

 

....or....they could make the first person pulled out, the goalies....

Agreed 100% And don't call offsides because my daughter is faster and stronger than yours...LOL

 

I find these soccer rules to be quite interesting to say the least. Just sayin...
