Your right, the government didnt turn them down, Unions did. But couldnt the government intervene and say different, after all FEMA/Homeland Sec are in charge.

The other non-union crew from Alabama said they had no issues, after it was reported they were turned away. Snoops even says it's a "mixture" of being false and undetermined.
