IF Fogle is 100% then Conner will be tough to beat and may make it to the finals, but then again they could lose Friday night also

 

He looked pretty impressive last week against cov cath.. Dusted everyone when he broke off tackle for a long TD. And his closing speed on the INT, and when he ran down #3 from behind to stop a score was impressive. All of that on a soaking wet sloppy field.. I'd say he's probably 100% and if he's not, he's darn close. Also, I doubt Montgomery County wins Friday night.

I heard BG and Trinity were going to play vs. each other on Sunday afternoon after the finals to earn the right to play Alabama the following Saturday. Anybody else?

I'd be mildly shocked if Bowling Green won the region championship, state semifinals, and the finals all with a 35-21 score. Be crazy to see 3 straight games with the exact same score, otherwise I agree.

That is their intention, to set a record for scoring the same score in all games. It's basically the only challenge they will have.

Would love to see my Flyers in Bowling Green. However, these are high school kids and you never know what you are gonna get any given Friday night. I believe Conner, Cooper and Anderson Co. are all potential obstacles. However, take nothing for granted as Scott High, Montgomery Co., etc. could make all of these fun debates irrelevant. Anyone who comes out of this region will have a tough journey to the mountains for semis as well. Playoffs should be exciting!

People on here need to look closely at Harlan County before they start planning a state championship game with Bowling Green. Harlan County has home field through out the playoffs and is a VERY good football team right now. If I had to make a pick on who is going to the finals, I think it is up in the air with Franklin County, Conner, South Oldham, Cooper, but I would lean towards Harlan County right now going to the finals. I've seen Franklin County and Harlan County in person and I would lean towards Harlan County in that match up in a close ball game.

Harlan county is a very good football team. But has considerable difficulty with team speed. And Franklin County has that. I could see a shoot out like what happened with Tates Creek. I like Harlan County's ground and pound mentality.

No 4a preview this year or am i missing something......I agree with everything in 5a except for Bowling Green being the second best team in the state.

I would agree that bowling green is the favorite to win 5A. However I don't know if Franklin Co will be their opponent in that game. Franklin Co and Cooper could potentially both loose in the first round. Cooper more so than Franklin County.

yea, they got 3 of the 4 regional winners right....region 3 was the only one they got wrong.

Some interesting statistics: Out of 28 playoff games, the Bluegrasspreps Playoff Preview has successfully picked the winners in 25 of those 28 games. One first round upset, Jeffersontown/Bullitt East, second round game Shelby County/Jeffersontownn and Cooper/Franklin County. And, to be honest, the BGP staff had Cooper winning that match up and ultimately gave the nod to Franklin County. And, Warren East accounted for the other two misses.

I agree. But, now everyone knows that was not an easy game to pick. Franklin had a powerful and explosive offense that was reminiscent of Oregon with the mentality of "you may score, but we are going to score more then you do". But, Cooper really stepped it up in the playoffs and they are doing very well.

I was worried big time about FC. They are so good and have so many weapons. Now I only wish Conner played Harlan Co and Bowling green, we seem to do pretty good against teams Conner lost to this year.

 

Now the more I learn about Harlan Co. the more worried I am getting. They are great defensively and great at running the ball. That worries me a ton. I think they have one kid with over 2600 yards rushing this season. Should be a tough one. I just hope I can enjoy the long ride back home afterwards.
