4) Are you in favor of statewide of federal prohibition? Why/why not? NO!!! Completely different from local option where local voters decide, the less things Washington and Frankfort decides the better. BTW it was a fiasco the last time it was tried and in this modern day it would be even worse.

That's a good question.

No statistical proof but I know a Law Enforcement Officer in Wayne County told me he expected drug use to drop some when Beer and Liquor became available in Pulaski County 14 miles away. Said that it was easier to get Meth in Wayne Co than it was to get alcohol.

Back in the WWI era when my grandmother was growing up, atleast once a day a chore of hers was to take a pail and a nickel down to the beer joint on the corner street and bring back a pail of beer for the family. That was was was drink with lunch and dinner. I am guessing water purification wasn't as advanced as it is today so the brewing process probably disinfected the water a bit and masked the (I'm assuming) not so great taste of the water also.

3&4) I look at alcohol restrictions, gambling restrictions and gun control in similar manners. Can alcohol and guns kill people, yes. Can gambling addiction ruin someone's life, yes. However, is alcohol consumed, money gambled or guns shot in a responsible manner by 98+% of the population who choose to partake in drinking, gambling or shooting, yes. So in a free society I don't want to restrict the rights of the 98% to try and protect the 2%. I say try because I don't think Prohibition really protected too many people with all the illegal alcohol made. The organized crime has made a fortune off of providing gambling where it is illegal. If further gun control is passed, I see a black market being produced for newly outlawed firearms.

I know the Catholic Church has difficulties in Islamic nations with strick alcohol rules when it comes to having wine available for communion. I have heard they try to dance around the law as much as possible such as only using a tiny amount of wine and only the priest consumes it. If it is done that way, often time to local authorities will look the other way.
