The way to beat Scott Co isn't to run the spread, go 3 and out and put the defense back on the field after 3 incomplete passes. The defense can't play that many snaps against a good offense. If the offense can run the ball, flip the field, run some clock, SK has a chance. Unfortunately, the spread doesn't allow for clock management and ball control nearly as much as a big fullback, a massive O line and a back that loves to run between the tackles.

 

Great point, TOP hasn't been SK's bread and butter. You don't want to get in a shootout with a team averaging 50 points per game when you are averaging less than 30. For SK to have a shot they have to buy into the run game to keep the Cards honest.

All they have to do is hand the ball off to Bowling and Krallman some plays. Then let Sampson run outside on them. Then Kuntz will beat them with the pass!

Loosing to a 1-6 team with a home playoff date at stake might have something to do with it!

Awful loss at DH. However, SK can play for revenge in the playoffs with the immediate goal of taking out DH or CC to avenge one of their close losses. End of the day, that will mean more than the outcome of the game at Scott County.

They have both had a couple carries. I would use them on a couple plays both would move the chains.

It's more the mindset of the linemen than the back who is carrying the ball. To have a chance, SK will have to be committed to run and it all starts up front with the big guys. They need to take the running game personally and dominate the guy in front of them.

Actually, it is more understanding responsibilities on each play more than physical domination. Too many times kids block to the inside when the play calls for a block to the outside, or a tight end gives ground on a block, impeding the progress of a pulling guard or tackle. Often times with three man defensive fronts, there is no one lined up on the guards. SK has not run the ball well since the Ryle game.
