Did not know this. Wonder why just 6A? Seems like a good idea for all classes, but I guess there could be travel implications.

 

Specifically so the same district isn't paired against Trinity and X every year.

The way to beat Scott Co isn't to run the spread, go 3 and out and put the defense back on the field after 3 incomplete passes. The defense can't play that many snaps against a good offense. If the offense can run the ball, flip the field, run some clock, SK has a chance. Unfortunately, the spread doesn't allow for clock management and ball control nearly as much as a big fullback, a massive O line and a back that loves to run between the tackles.

I have been thinking along these lines as well. It seems obvious that this offense needs a big back, one that can get three yards even when there is no whole. When you look at the success that Durham has had , and going back a little further, Jordan Oppenheimer, it seems big backs do really well in this district.

 

Not that I want an "Owen Hauck" offense, but balanced offense is needed and SK is depending too heavily on the pass game. I think that the QB and receivers are feeling the pressure.

 

SK has done way better than expected this year. Especially coming off a 2-9 season. Scott has some exceptionally gifted skill athletes. If the SK offense can stay on the field, they can be competitive. If not, it may be a very long night.

Agree. I wasn't knocking the kids or the staff, just too reliant on the pass. SK will need to run the ball to have a chance Friday night. Sampson runs hard and makes plays. He may just need more carries and the O line/TE's/Receivers have to sell out on run blocking.

 

Maybe the bye week will get everyone back at full strength.

All they have to do is hand the ball off to Bowling and Krallman some plays. Then let Sampson run outside on them. Then Kuntz will beat them with the pass!
