Highlands 65 Boone County 22 (Frosh)

Featured Replies

CCH & Conner couldn't get their earlier game (which was canceled due to weather) rescheduled- so they both got shorted a game. Don't think another week will happen though.

So did you attend the game? So who scored for HHS or even Boone County? Heck even a number of the players who scored for either team. Is it too much work to post some information about the game?

You rag on me for not posting names but at least I give information about the game......

Here is what I can remember regarding the scoring last night. Cain took back the opening kickoff for a touchdown. Kendall scored 3 touchdowns as did Dougherty. Johnson, Jr. had a nice long run for 6 and Kreeger capped the scoring with a touchdown run. There was also a safety late in the 2nd quarter. Do not remember who all scored for Boone though I thought they did throw the ball rather well.

Thanks for giving us some names. Others seem to have an aversion to giving names, almost like it is a states secret, or something. There are those of us who cannot get to the games, and appreciate knowing who the stars of the future are going to be.

Yes, IT IS A SHAME that they let one slip away (this program never gets beat, it slips away), I think they can beat beechwood if they played again. I'm hoping Ryle wins. Makes you wonder how your varsity struggles with injuries and some of your best players that could help you win are left to win freshman games.....I know SK sure wishes #32 for beechwood stayed in the SK program.....kid is a beast.

This confuses me can you explain what you meant? The rest of the post I get your point.

I think the "let it slip away" verbage is fairly common when a team leads an entire game only to be beat right at the end.

meaning, there are a couple of those beechwood freshman, that should be playing varsity. i know, due to injuries and need, the NCC freshman teams best player (score a TD last night against HC) got moved up to varsity about 4 weeks ago. This absolutely needed to be done. Makes you wonder where some coaches priorities are.

With all due respect, and I don't want to hijack a Highlands thread, but I completely disagree. There is not one game that BW lost this year that any of those freshman would have turned into a W. I completely support Coach Rash's policy to not bring them up. Physically, I think the only one ready to play vs Seniors is 42, Combs. Rest of them need a year in the weight room.

I know and I realized how futile it is, some people just can't be educated.

I believe the thread had to do with a specific game but since you're here......... last time I checked, Beechwood was on their way to a District championship w/out their freshman and the Frosh are undefeated. If a freshman is truly the answer for helping varsity, they will get their chance to help them win their way through the playoffs........until then I think Mr. Rash has the right priority by developing football players in his program.
