What do you mean the county? Elliott? Morgan? Greenup? Carter? There are many counties, I am unclear as to whom you are speaking of!

Right now I believe EKU or WKU have more value in Recruiting then UK.

 

Hard to say a player would fit into UK's Style of ball, because right now, they have NO STYLE.

 

Wireman - we all feel in the County that Owens definetly has some growing up to do, but we are also a little raw about everyone being jealous and making negative comments about Owens. Not saying that is what you were doing, but even in your reply you were stating how much you liked Owens, but you still had to throw a comment about he would never play for you and would have to go to a different County. Bottom line is this is a KID, in a spotlight position, that has never played organized ball and never lived in this area of the State before. Owens has many of things to think about off the court before even considering the Sport of Basketball. The game of Basketball is something he enjoys and that gets his mind off of other things in Life and all he has gotten is critisicim at every gym he has attented. Put yourself in his shoes and think what you would do. How would you react to someone making fun of your Race in one game, Signs by teenage fans that make fun of him being from Ramey Home and a full teenage section shouting at you game after game. Dont get me wrong Owens has agged some of this on, but he is learning day after day, and we are happy to have him at Boyd County, and we are destined to make this young boy into a young man, one step at a time.

 

I love how Owens plays and I think he has a world of potential. I don't know what you mean by Ramey Home? Also, I couldn't read the signs because I was on the other side of the court at East Carter, but I knew thats what he was reacting too. When you're on the court, you just have to learn how to ignore that stuff. I'm sure he'll get that with experience, but I'd hate to see him hurt his basketball future. Know what I mean?

Owens needs to tone down his act or the coaches need to get a hold of him. How long will this continue?

What does not ever playing HS ball have to do with attitude on the floor?

He is a great talent but it going to go to waste unless someone steps up and makes the kid act right on the floor.

I hope it happens because he has the game to gain a college scholarship.
