Still going to have to figure out a way to hang on to the big leads, but this team is still hanging in there...

Congratulations to the Lions on another good victory.

Actually Boyd led 49-25 in the 3rd quarter and East Carter went on a 17-0 run to cut it to 7. Then in the 4th quarter, East went on an 8-0 run to cut the lead to 1 @ 53-52 but ran out of steam down the stretch. Great game for both teams. Boyd made the shots when they counted.

I think you probably just matched what we said, except Boyd had a 24 pt lead instead of a 22. :D East is a good team and will do good in postseason, but too outmanned by Boyd. Boyd has some team fundamentals to work on, and if that was fixed, they would be hard to beat. :thumb:

I was at this game. It looked like a blowout for most of the game, but Owens was in a fight with foul trouble most of the night. He picked up his 4th foul in the 3rd quarter and managed to play 1 quarter and 2 minutes without getting number 5. I felt like Owens didn't play great, but how can anyone argue with 10-19 shooting and 30 points? The coach of this team is in a difficult spot because Owens has a little bit of an attitude, but where would Boyd be without him? In this game alone, I noticed Owens talking on a cell phone as the JV game ended and it was time to run on the court, he sent a not-so-nice one finger salute to the East Carter student section, he pouted on the end of the bench because he was taken out of the game, and he motioned to the coach to leave him in the game with 4 fouls in the 3rd quarter and then blurted out the "F" word when he was taken out anyways.

There were a few college scouts in attendance tonight and I'm sure they were turned off by Owen's attitude and turned back on by his gameplay. He has the talent of a high division I player and the mentality of a small college player that was denied a shot at the big-time because of his attitude. He has the talent to score 50 points a game when his shot is locked on. He also pulled off a dunk in warmups that you just don't see at the high school level. I'm talking a big-time windmill that came from the ankles. I am still hoping that Morehead State realizes the potential of this kid and gets on the recruiting trail. He could be a superstar at that level.

Agreed :thumb: BC has some work to do

but they will work it out.but they do not

have time to rest, they play George Washington

WV tomorrow, which are ranked in WV.

Tiny- I got some bad news for you, I know the gw boys, they are good,

I'm going to have to pick gw to win, remember the names Long and Payne

sorry

Is this an added game Tiny? It's not on my schedule. Is the game home or away? Thanks!

How many games have we (the County) had a 10+ point lead and ended up winning by a bucket? Any thoughts?

Apparently you were there to watch Owens instead

of the game. He was not the last one in

the locker room, furthermore his attitude was

of a kid that wants to play and win- we call

them competitive. He did not pout on the bench,

he was cherring his team on. As for the finger

salute to the kids, that was for the sign

that said RAMEY ESTEP RECRUIT.These kids

get singled out, just like what you are doing

in this quote.Tell me you have never seen kids

play basketball or any sport and not get frustrated

or are competive? I see this on BC team from all the

kids as well from other schools. That makes them

a team. As for colleges, for the Owens kid there

are several D1 schools that want to recruit him.

Dont worry about everyones negative comments about Owens, he will do fine. The way I always looked at is was, if people are paying attention to him this much to critique every move he makes- then he must be the REAL DEAL. Either that or these people dont have a life. :thumb:

Anyone could go to any game in any County and pick a player out individually and find something negative about any of them, but that is not the proper thing to do and shouldnt be done, these are KIDS.

Golly tiny, agreeing with me? Kinda feels like Christmas, I thought you take it as "picking" on your Lions

anyhow, how bad was it tonight? My guess is GW solved your problem of getting those big early leads? :D
