The lights are going up now at Scott High School as we speak. Hurry up and schedule them night games with them. I want to see some good night games up there this year. Hopefully we will have a concession stand finished with some restrooms too for us fans

I think everyone that comes to Belfry this year will be surprised at what a nice field Belfry has. The infield has been sodded and the baselines have a mixture of clay and diamond pro field conditioner. There was also a warning track installed around the entire field and the bleachers were recently covered. Thank goodness no more Hardy Park!

Belfry's new field is very nice...Belfry has the best athletic facilities in the mountains IMO. Pike County has 2 of the best baseball fields in EKY in Pikeville and Belfry. Shelby Valley and Pike Central could also have very nice fields but the last time I saw them they needed some work. I actually like the field and layout of the field at Pike Central a lot...its a good place to watch a game. I haven't been to the new field at East Ridge but since it is new I would guess that it is pretty nice or atleast has the potential to be a good field.

This very subject came up in this discussion board before last season, I believe. Anyway, I happy to hear that Belfry has done some upgrades to their field.

 

Knott Central has been upgrading as well. They added a new fence down on the right field side. Hopefully, they'll be adding a couple of bullpens before the season starts or during the season. The only thing that hurts the field is parking. Someday that should get resolved.

Sorry guys there is no way Johnson Central's field is one of the best when the game has to be stopped every time the sun sets. It almost forces each team to use two pitchers, as it would be very hard for a starting pitcher to take at least a 45 minute break and come back to finish the game. The new field at Belphy should be great.

Somerset's field also has the sun problem, but a decent field nonetheless.

Somerset spent alot of money last year to remodel their baseball field. It doesnt really look that different but they had a new pressbox built. Here in a few weeks they are going to start constructing an indoor batting facility in the vacant lot beside the field.

St Henry has a great field to play on.Not to good to watch a game there though if their is a big crowd.Also noticed last year at the sectional games the outfield grass was way too tall.Anyone know why or if its that way all the time.On a hit to the outfield the ball wouldn't get hardly out of the infield and the grass would stop it.As big as the outfield is it made it hard on the outfielders on hits right over the infield.

If there are two fields nicer to play on or watch a game than Corbin or Pikeville I would like to see them. Great facilities.

No, they still use the fieldhouse just as they have been for the last 6 or 7 years. As a player i dont think that coach cobb has any problem letting the baseball team use the fieldhouse

Corbin(the most well groomed field and park I've seen of late-Kudos to their baseball boosters; they could use a little more seating in their grandstand though,kind of a let down.)

Pikeville(really nice field with the turf and all, but if your'e gonna sit in the stands, better bring your dramamine because sittin' behind that netting is nauseating.)

PRP(just put this in here cause everyone else did, heard it's really nice,but can't personally say so. I haven't been to that one.)

Knott Co. Central(nicest grandstand in my opinion and great concessions, but the field could use a little more TLC and parking is always a pain.)

Boyd Co. and Henry Clay(haven't seen those in a while, but they were always pretty nice parks-Henry Clay has no grandstand, though and you've got to have that these days to be in the elite class of fields.

Male(someone told me their field was pretty nice, but once again I can't swear to that.)

Yes they are. Last I heard was that it will be where the BOE building used to be. Basically, behind the current football stands. Original plans called for the infield to be the synthetic turf with the outfield being natural grass, and no, the soccer team will not practice in the outfield. However, as of now, these plans could have changed drastically. It could very well end up being the best field in NKY, however, time will tell. Right now St. Henry has the best in NKY, but I hate how the stands are situated. Not the best place to watch a game. Heck, when I played, no NKY school had a good field. Campbell's was just getting underway, so it needed the time for the grass to come in.

 

I've seen Pulaski's in person (the link in the first post), and it appeared to be a very nice field. I've played on PRPs field in the 90's, and I wasn't impressed at all. From a distance it looked good, but once on it, the grass was real patchy causing some tricky bounces. That was 10 years ago, so things probably have changed by now.
