Someone needs to post a video of the hit Nussbaum laid on the TE...........its Youtube worthy.

 

No doubt! That was the best hit I have seen in quite a while in high school. TE crossing the middle, pass complete in stride and Nussbaum immediately lowers the boom. TE knocked immediately flat on his back and Nussbaum standing there looking down at him. Kudos to the TE (Owens?) for hanging onto the ball.

 

Also, a great line yelled out by a Beechwood fan at the refs on a questionable call,

 

"Hey ref, go back to the NFL." :lol:

I was looking over my game notes and noticed that Beechwood did not punt one time in the game.

My guess ... is that Max put about 25% effort into this hit.

There is a lot of talk in NKY about who the best overall player is .... well ... I don't see many kids who hit like this. (Not to mention rushing for almost 300 and passing for over 100).

The video does not do this hit justice. Since Max is going away from the camera completely, it does not show the impact. It looked brutal from my vantage point.

I agree OSD, the hit was more impressive in person. The smack of the pads adds to how hard the hit was. The Dixie player obviously felt it. Watch how he takes a swipe at Nussbaums knee after the player is over.

Since you seem to have access to post some HUDL video, can we see the Nussbaum/Suchanek pass that ultimately put the game away? No big deal, I heard it was a great pass, catch and run combo, but I was helping someone out and missed it.

I have to say, I was impressed that he not only held onto the ball, but stayed in the game. I was really expecting him to exit the game shortly after this. To his credit, he didn't. Tough kid.

 

For those of us Tiger fans who remember, the hit reminded me of one of the Slushers. The boys could absolutely deliver a hit.

VOR, I've watched this over and over and just don't see the "swipe" at the knee you are insinuating. I did see the macho walking over the guy you just planted that seems to be too prevalent nowadays. Nussbaum is a great player but hell I could deliver a hit like that on someone who wasn't expecting it. Now before all you Tiger fans get on me for my view, I want to state I have nothing but respect and admiration for the Beechwood program.

It's right at the end of the play as Nussbaum is walking past the player, as the player starts to get up he throws a forearm to the back of Nussbaum's knee. I can't help any more than that if you can't see it.

I agree that it was hard to see at this angle.

If you follow 42's Right arm from the time he starts to get up ... it is pretty obvious.

During the game ... I was on the front side of the play ... and it was a very solid attempt at a punch.

I also see the walk that you mention (which also looked different on the front side of the play).

It is what it is ... and it isn't really worth more conversation than that.
