Two things; Seemed like coach abandoned Boyle's bread and butter offense in the red zone which killed their drives. Players going both ways hurt them as well late in the game. They had many opportunities to blow this thing out of the water and failed, painfully and miserably. Hope Bolin is alright as well as others hurt, but after last night's performance by both squads, I like Northern Kentucky's chances representing 4A.

If, heaven forbid, Bolin is out for the year, the question now becomes "Can I secure a ticket for the state title game between CCH/Highlands at DCMS?"

Bolin went out middle of the game and the new QB Ryan threw a pick 6 to put Boyle up 21-12. He settles down and knights score two more touchdowns and Boyle misses last second game tying field goal. Lexington Catholic wins 24-21. I think the game would've been close with Bolin, but maybe 10 point win instead of a field goal.

 

Wasn't at the game so you would know better than I. But would your thoughts be true since Bolin was in when Boyle was leading and out when they fell behind? Sounds like with him, or without him it's a Boyle play from being a different outcome.

 

Like I said, you who were there would be better equipped to say.

Completely different game for LexCath if Bolin is in there. We likely don't get a pick 6 to start the half. We also likely don't get that second interception either. Sure we didn't punch it in when we needed but LexCath couldn't run their complete offense without Bolin in there. Ryan is not Bolin and it was evident as soon as the 3rd quarter started. Both his interceptions were poor passes and poor decisions.

Congrats to LC on the win. I hope Bolin (and others) make quick recoveries and are back in action soon. Nothing worse than to see teams get hit with the injury bug.

I think the likely CCH/Highlands game would/will be a quarterfinal game.

 

All are praying for Kyle Bolin this morning. But if he can not play Ryan can get most of the job done. Going from Bolin to Ryan is is going from a committed college D1 pick to a (very likely) future D1 commit.
