September 27, 201213 yr As long as we have the winner take all electoral college system, Kentucky will never matter. We should apportion our electoral college folks by congressional district. You win the 5th district in Ky you get one electoral vote. You can also get two extra by winning the whole state. I have always been in favor of this. Our whole election system from how candidates are nominated, campaign rule, and voting is a an absolute joke. Somewhat embarrassing.

If you award two electoral votes based on states carried, that favors Republicans. They also tend to carry more districts. Democrats carry the big population centers.
