Seems that most people think that CC coming off a buy week is a positive. There have been several posts that have cited it gives CC more time to prepare and more time to scheme. I get that, however I question how much of an advantage it really is. For me, a buy week can much easier be a disadvantage. Your routine is thrown off, your over thinking, and it is a struggle to keep your players focused and mentally prepared (goofing off in practice etc). Some may disagree, but its a pretty big deal. Many times high school football teams come out flat after a buy week. They put to much confidence in the "preparation" and slack a little in intensity. Not saying this will happen, just saying that is a very real and common tendency. Basically, I put little to no stock in CC having an extra week as being a positive - could be a negative just as well.

 

I would have to say, for those who know Coach Lickert, there is no goofing around at practice. It is teaching, teaching and some more teaching like what happens each and every week! He has the kids ready to play and I will have to say, the kids are ready to hit someone other than their own team mates!

 

Can't wait until tomorrow night. Should be perfect weather as well!

NCC played by far their best game of the year against SK after a bye week. They were a completely different team than the one that was handled by CC. The other thing about coming off a bye is that you have an opportunity to get healthy.

SK hands down the best team in the district. Granted, that is akin to being the tallest "little person", but none the less it is what it is. They win this one easily.

I would love to see this one but it looks like I may not make it. Having seen Campbell in person and Simon on film I give a slight edge to SK. SK has a little more of a big strike capability with a few more playmakers. Simon is slow, slow, slow on the o line and CC has to take advantage to get off the field and get their O back out there. Walsh roaming at the safety position could be a game changer as well if he gets to t off on receivers early.

If its about long extended drives to score Cc can pull the upset. If SK gets big play scores Cc is not built for a shoot out.

I'm guessing SK is going to air it out. Their running game was highly effective last week (good thing with the wind), so CC will be looking for that. Big plays should be there early and often. We shall see if SK makes enough.

A bunch of people don't realize how good this team is this year and how good they will be next year. SK only has 15 Seniors and 10 of those Seniors are starters or get a lot of playing time. 17 Juniors either start or get a lot of playing time. 5 Sophomores either start or get a lot of playing time.

 

No wonder they are 7 and 0. Playing 32 kids the majority of the time has to have its advantages. Ha Ha
