Don't recall who it was, may have been Jayson Stark or Buster Olney, but they were talking about that, and said that tying for 1st in a category counts as winning it, so yes it would be a Triple Crown.

I would assume so but you know how quirky some of those baseball people are.

looks like he's got almost wrapped up.... RBI's is over with being up 10. Hamilton will have to hit 2 in Oakland to beat him which isn't likely, and being up .004 this late in the game would take a 4 hit game by Mauer to get it close.

A couple big games from Mauer and an 0-fer or two from Miggy. The only threat really is if Hamilton can bang out 2, but that's also highly unlikely. I'd say he's locked up the Triple Crown and his 1st MVP award.

Doesn't seem like Cabrera is built that way. He'd want to play.
Might need a couple of drinks first but he'd play!

I think he'll get it but it would be really fun if Hamilton went up one HR in his earlier game.

Will Hamilton even play today?

Why wouldn't he? They need a win to avoid the wild-card play in.

Ahhhhhh, I didn't realize that.

If it wasn't for that I'd say he sits for sure.

Question....(if my math is correct...) and if Miggy goes 0-4 in Tigers' finale, his average would be .3285256. If Trout goes 4-4 to close season out, his average would be .3285714 Both numbers would be rounded up to .329 Which would constitute a tie, and still give Cabrera a shot at the triple crown. But mathematically you can see that Trout had a .0000458 advantage. Would they go that far out to declare a winner?

I think they would. I'm hoping Miggy puts that out of question in his first PA.
