Ironton 27 (OH) Ashland 17

Featured Replies

One of my best friends, an Ironton grad, President of the Booster Club, a school board member texted me that Ashland is 2 TD's better than Ironton, but Ashland couldn't overcome the terrible coaching job by their head coach Leon Hart. He said Ashland was getting 6-8 yards a pop running the ball. He stated Ironton couldn't stop Ashland's stud freshman running back Quintin Baker, but Hart kept going away from the run. I didn't go to the game, but listened to most of the 2nd half. I would love to hear the thoughts of the Ashland or Ironton fans that were at the game.

Anyone?

Expected this one to be close. Glad we get the opportunity to play both of these teams. Wish that I would have went to this one.

Good win for the Tigers and good game Tomcats.

Bueller?

I have to admit after seeing Ashland earlier in the year and reading everything I could find on Ironton, and talking to a good Ironton friend I am shocked that the Fighting Tigers found a way to win this one.

I am going to guess the big backs from Ironton as a group had a nice game?

None of our Ashland posters went to this game?

Corleone is afraid to post his thoughts, he had to send them to me in a pm.

Just got a phone call from another Ashland fan that didn't want to post his thoughts. He said he thought Ashland's running game was working well, and thought they should have stuck with it more, but he went on to say that the passing plays were there, the receivers were open, two probably would have gone for touchdowns, but on one the pass was over thrown, and on the other the pass was under thrown. So it sounds like my buddy from Ironton may have been a little too critical of Coach Hart. I would still love to hear the thoughts of some more that were at the game.

Even so, if they were getting 6-8 a pop on the ground in a close game, why change?

When did Ashland make the switch? When Ironton went ahead 13-10? How much time was left?

Still looking for answers.

Gotta win to post. Ashland rule.
