Now back to the Fairview game, I was a little suprised that Cooksey didn't make any adjustments in the 4th qtr whenever Owens got hot by posting up on Barker. Owens really took advantage of his size and leaping ability. I really thought they would maybe put someone bigger on him to try to stop him. Any thoughts??

Not a bad idea to have the other teams point guard underneath the basket trying to post up Barker and not running the offense, I have seen it tried many, many times and it usually doesnt work and the other teams offense gets out of sync

It only helped BC last night and really doesn't get them out of sync since the offense runs thru Owens anyway. He had a huge advantage over Barker all night, but didn't really take advantage of it until the 4th qtr.

BC travels to Grayson Friday. Any thoughts?

Plus BC has the advantage of basically playing 4 guard lineup, with Blanton being the x-factor for them. Even though he is playing the 4, he was the starting PG all last season, so he can run the offense with no problem.

I look for BC to win by double digits. BC is really coming together as a team and I just don't think EC has any answer for Owens.

Another big win for Boyd County. Fairview and Boyd have established themselves as two of the top three in the region. East will try to slow the tempo down, but they cannot score and they cannot stop Owens.

A good loss does not exist.However I doubt if the Eagles are crushed.They played at BC where the Lions have lost only one game(94-93 to Bob Jones High of Alabama) and lost by 5.Fairview had their worst shooting night of the year both from the field(19-57) and the line(7-16) and still were in the game until the end.The district will be at Rose Hill which will help to negate the home court advantage the Lions had on Tuesday.A couple of positive notes for the Eagles:outside shooting of Justin Hutchinson-he hit 5 threes and the ballhandling of Fairview.For the second straight game Fairview only had 6-7 turnovers.I was impressed with BC.They were patient and didn't get rattled when Fairview made their run.Owens is the best and most dynamic player in the region.He literally 'carries' BC at times-and I'm not just talking about with his ability.I have seen several games this year in which a 'palming'call is made on his first or second possession and then never called again.The fact is-he palms the ball on almost every dribble.

If you really pay attention to the game, carrying the ball could almost be called on every possession. I think for the most part that officials let it go and only watch for the most blatent carries, but that is just my opinion.

If Boyd had another shot at JC, I don't think they would need to be on a neutral court with neutral refs. Even though we all know that the home team gets some iffy calls, the Lions just simply lost the game and beat themselves. JC doesn't play that consistent and I don't think that they could beat Boyd at JC if they played tomorrow! They shouldn't have lost to them the first time, even with the refs!
