I can't because I don't know what his plan is. You're asking for answers to questions that aren't available and you acknowledge that. If his plan is yet-to-be- presented how can anyone answer your question?

 

That said what has President Obama done that has lead to the creation of long term jobs? What could the POTUS have done differently? What could any POTUS do? Can the POTUS really have an effect?

 

My position has always been that while the POTUS can directly create private sector jobs they can create an environment that encourages job creation. Lower corporate tax rates, tax credits for hiring, ect... While I'm not sold lowering tax on the rich will create jobs I do think keeping capital gains low and lowering corporate taxes can and will. You need to give incentives to people and businesses to invest long term.

 

Until Romney reveals his plan I think the only debate that can be had is what could any POTUS do to lead to/encourage job creation.

Absoutely with really no substance to it other than he is a business man. And that doesn't automatically equal job creator as POTUS. I would really like to hear some meat to his plan but I don't think I'll hold my breath.

That's a great question. I think he has to hammer and hammer away at the Obama record just like Obama did in 2008. Of course Obama had a major financial meltdown that helped him. I wonder what would have happened had the market not collapsed in early October. Up until then the economy was sort of a backburner issue, wasn't it?

I'm stuggling with Obama being a job creator. You know that Obama hasn't created jobs. He says he saved jobs at GM and such at the cost of 5 Trillion to the tax payer. That is not creating jobs. That's saving jobs at the cost of taxpayers. Creating jobs is new jobs that we the tax payers are not paying for and that generate money for the economy and the government.

Gov Patrick (I think) said that more private sector jobs have been created in the last 29 months than were created during the Bush presidency. If true, that's pretty strong.
