I didn't vote. As I stated earlier in the thread, I am pro-choice.

I'm catholic and I voted "no". People bring up rape and incest so often; yet rape and incest are not always easily proven in a court of law, so how can they be proven in a doctor's office?

 

I can't think of anyone I feel more sympathy for than a rape/incest victim. Those are things that should never, ever, ever happen to any female(or male). However, I think this has no place in the abortion/pro-life debate. If you're pro-life, you should be pro-EVERY-life, not just the warm and fuzzy ones. Otherwise, you're not really pro-life, you're just anti-abortion.

I don't really have a set stance on the death penalty. I can see both sides of the issue, and it is a difficult one.

However, it also bothers me when pro-life people support the death penalty. Like I said before, if you're really pro-life, you're for all lives, not just the foetus.

Doesn't matter in regards to comparing it to abortion. The innocents you speak of at least had the opportunity of a trial and appeals. What's the percentage of innocent people put to death? What's the percentage of innocent babies aborted?

I've never understood this mentality either. To me, pro-life means supporting life in all instances, regardless of circumstance.

I can see the difference. It is not the "pro-life" movement's privilege to change the meaning of the word "life." A life is a life is a life. Those people are, in fact, anti-abortion. When you allow the state to kill someone on your behalf, you are everything but "pro-life."
