I wonder who has applied? Or how many applicants? I hope one day they will get serious about their football program. They have potential to be competitive.

The administration there needs to be replaced. Its a discrace the way the athletic program has deteriorated!

But do ANY of those applying satisfy these parameters ??

 

1) Older than 20.

2) Have a teaching certificate.

3) Isn't a player parent that thinks he can "do better".

I heard they were offering head janitor job as a perk. That way they can save money from a teaching salary. I would be willing to bet that the person hired will already be employed by the Floyd Co. Board. They are not going to spend any extra cash to pursue a quality coach.

Who are the names in the hat? I know things there aren't that tight lipped. Let us know.

They will hire, when they find out the budget for next year.

Allocations should be on the table now or very shortly.

I'm sorry to sound so flippant...but, the problems with football in Betsy Layne continue without end.

I agree, The Big 3 around here(Pikeville,Belfry,P-burg) get accused all the time of Recruiting but the truth is with the madness that goes on with some of the other schools around here the kids who are good athletes dont want waste their careers on bad teams and getting a new coach every year and putting up with all the political junk that goes on. The truth is none of us have to recruit when those schools actions are the best recruitng tools we have.

If I was in a position to do so, I would apply for this job. I do not understand why these programs cannot crawl out of embarrasment. A man who can inspire and work hard should be able to turn any program into a respectable program. All of these schools have roughly the same amount of boys walking the halls!

I would be very suprised if there were 3 applicants for that job, let alone 30.
