November 19, 201312 yr From KSR: Class of 2014 up-and-comer Jonah Bolden trims his list and adds Kentucky. Jonah Bolden, a 6-foot-8 forward from Australia, is climbing the 2014 basketball recruiting rankings thanks to a breakthrough weekend at the Adidas Nations event back in August. Weeks after bursting onto the national scene, he listed ten schools of interest with no mention of Kentucky. That list has since changed, with five schools getting the axe and UK entering the mix. According to a tweet he sent out Monday night, Bolden is now down to Kentucky, Southern Cal, Louisville, Indiana, UCLA and SMU. Bolden, who will suit up for Finlay Prep in Nevada for his senior season, does not have an offer from Kentucky but the interest is there. His father told The Cats’ Pause earlier this month that talks with UK are still in the early stages. “Jonah thinks very highly of Kentucky and is very appreciative of their interest in him,” Papa Bolden said to Chris Fischer. Keep an eye on this one. He could be one of the two Calipari says he hopes to sign.
November 19, 201312 yr ^ I think the kid has a load of potential only question is how long it's going to take for him to reach some of that potential.
November 19, 201312 yr Excuse me, but I have been slipping in my recruiting research on this class. Did Montaque Gill-Caeser ever re-classify, and how good is this kid if he is ranked in the twenties or something in the 2015 class, help a brother out.
November 19, 201312 yr Excuse me, but I have been slipping in my recruiting research on this class. Did Montaque Gill-Caeser ever re-classify, and how good is this kid if he is ranked in the twenties or something in the 2015 class, help a brother out. He has not yet, but it is likely he does. If he re-classifies I see him as a borederline 5* prospect. Some sites will have him as 5*, some as 4*.
November 19, 201312 yr Will Ky start doing the buddy plan like Duke did. Ihate it has come to kids dictating where they go and get away with it. I hate the 2 for 1 deals or 2 for 2 deals.
November 19, 201312 yr I would venture a guess that both Bolden and MGC are Cats next season. I like the tune of: Towns, Booker, Ulis, Lyles, Bolden, MGC.
November 19, 201312 yr He has not yet, but it is likely he does. If he re-classifies I see him as a borederline 5* prospect. Some sites will have him as 5*, some as 4*. I have seen him play in person and was impressed by him. Thought he played better than Wiggins the night I saw them play. The 2015 class is loaded. If he reclassifies I can see him in top 10 in the 2014 class.
November 19, 201312 yr Michigan State offers 2015 Montaque Gill-Caesar. I expect him to reclassify to 2014.
November 19, 201312 yr Thomas Bryant For the time being, the Huntington Prep player getting the most attention from UK’s coaching staff is Montaque Gill-Caesar, who could reclassify to 2014 and help fill out the Cats’ current recruiting class. Once that recruitment is settled, the focus will turn to junior power forward Thomas Bryant. Bryant — in his first season at Huntington Prep — was arguably the team’s most impressive player during last weekend’s two-game swing through Kentucky. He scored a team-high 16 points in Saturday’s victory in Hazard, then helped the Express get out to a fast start Sunday in Frankfort. In the latter game, he scored seven points — going 5-for-5 on free throws — and drew four fouls in the first 3 minutes of the contest. He finished with 12 Scout.com ranks Bryant as the No. 13 prospect in the Class of 2015 and the No. 33 overall player across all classes. He’s a hard-worker in the paint, a dominating rebounder and a player who can create his own scoring opportunities on the block. With so many veteran scorers around him, he hasn’t been relied on to be an offensive threat. Another Huntington Prep star on Kentucky?s radar » UK basketball and football recruiting news
December 4, 201312 yr Kentucky is evidently back in the mix with Rashad Vaughn. I like that better than any of the other options at this point. Him and Booker could put some points on the board from the wing feeding off post scorers such as Lyles, Towns, and likely Dakari (all of which very skilled with offensive game).
December 5, 201312 yr Kentucky is evidently back in the mix with Rashad Vaughn. I hate to use the words "need" or "have to get" for this situation since UK just got back in the recruitment, but UK really needs Vaughn if they want ANY backcourt depth at all.. They've fallen behind Iowa St and UNLV at this point, just have to play catch up.
