August 2, 201214 yr I just wish someone would tell that sweat band wearing, tooth ouch chewing bafoon that this isn't little league. Everyone doesn't get 6 outs in the field and an at bat. That's how you used to get AB's.
August 2, 201214 yr I sit Ludwick today if I don't think he's fresh for the weekend series with the Pirates. He MUST be fresh this weekend. You can pull away or lose the lead this weekend. I'm not surprised at all. Of course, I'm also not surprised of the overreaction on here, either. You'd play your hottest hitter. You can't deny it. He gets a little extra rest this evening, it's not a get away day. Come on.

August 2, 201214 yr Apples/Oranges What the heck does that mean? Apples and Apples. Would YOU play him?

August 2, 201214 yr You can't say Dusty loves his veterans then complain when he sits one. Chapman has been unhittable, are we going to complain when he doesn't close today? What's the difference? Pitchers need rest but everyday players don't? Come on. You guys are better than this. At most you can lose a 1/2 game today. This weekend is completely different. It makes sense whether you think it does or not. And I won't even bring up the fact that no one has any idea how Ludwick feels. For God's sake, they can't afford another injury. You'd complain about that if he is run out there everyday. Lose/Lose for Dusty with this group.
August 2, 201214 yr ^He just had a day off. Everyday players don't need a day off every 3 days. How do you know? Have you talked to Ludwick? Exactly my point. I prefer to trust the guy whose job depends on wins and losses and not my emotions or what I think. If Ludwick feels great and wanted to play but he sat, then I question the decision. But no one on this board knows that answer.
August 2, 201214 yr Author Bobby Abreu gets a run home in that situation. LRCW, your boy sure is making a case for an expanded role. So that's the reason Mr. Baker gave Ludwick the day off. He KNEW Paul would struggle against Ohlendorf. All a ploy to keep Valdez and Cairo around.
