Last year SK had a down year and a lot of young kids also. 6A X beat them 35-0. 1A Beechwood beat SK 28-0. That right there doesn't say much about X. Last year Beechwood probably would have beat X. This year SK is 100 times better than last year. Plenty of you will call it an upset if SK beat X. SK players are focused on beating who ever they play!

Thats how it should be! Would love to see SK play X tough, would be good for the program after their struggles last year.

You could assemble an all star team composed of the best 15 players from every 6A program in NKY and still not compete with T or X. There is no upper limit on male enrollments in 6A, so as well as having no enrollment boundaries, they have almost twice the male enrollments of NKy 6A schools.

Just when exactly has ANYBODY besides T or X won 6A? Dixie in a Fluke abut 15 years ago?

Dixie has not won state in football to my knowledge, but it may have happened before my time.

Hypothetically, I think a 6A NKY all star team could be assembled and possibly beat St. X & T, but that game will never happen so it is a moot point.

But all this talk on BGP abt how unbeatable T & X are is sickening! It is exactly the

reason people love an upset like the Miracle on Ice and/or the '90 Reds sweeping the "unbeatable" A's in the world series just to name a couple... As they say anything can happen. A little luck, an injury, a bad game or some close calls going the other way and you are looking at an L. I for one always root for any NKY team when they are playing teams from down state, Ohio or whatever and I will continue to do so...Let's not crown king's in July.

St. X will win but not by as many as some people think. Just a scrimmage and the first 1 at that so I look for sloppy play on both sides from time to time. SK's D has to replace the whole d-line but has a couple strong linebackers and a corner that if he were 6ft he'd be going D1 somewhere. I am interested in seeing how far they've come and how far they have to go.

This St. X team will be very good this year. If SK lost their entire D-Line they could be in a for a long night as this X offensive line will be bigger and more talented with the abundance of large talented juniors hitting their stride this year. When X has an offensive line with this size and ability they are hard to handle. Buckle UP SK!

Last team I remember was Louisville Male, about 8-9 years ago, that was when Michael Bush was a senior. Thats it as far as I can recall.
Male did not win it when Bush was a SR. Trinity did in the shootout game between Brohm and Bush by the score of 59-56. I think he did win it two years earlier with Montrell Jones. Probably would have been 2000 or so.

SK uses speed on D. They return 1 d-lineman. They usually run the 3-5.

Are we talking trash about who will win a scrimmage game??? If you ever played you know that sure you want to win but a scrimmage is more about trying things out and see how it works. Finding things you as a team need to improve on and what you are doing well. Letting several different players step into the game and see how they play. Its all about what you get on tape and can learn from to prepare for real games and not so much about getting a W.

Let's be realistic. Besides Scott Co., who in 6A could give the JV squad at Trinity or X a good game? 6A state ranking should be-

1. Trinity

2. Trinity JV

3. St. X

4. Scott Co.

5. St. X JV

6. Everybody else

Your doing too much Trinity's jv isn't better than the X varsity.

It was Beechwood's first game of the season. SK's second game of the season.

When X runs the ball it should be a good match up with the running backs and linebackers. SK has 220 pound MLB and a bunch of 195 pound plus LB's. Should be some hard hitting.

You are correct, I was thinking Bush won the shootout, but I stand corrected.

SK looks tough with 6'5 240 pound Vercheack at DE.

Actually Bush won as a soph and lost as a senior.
