Coach Lucas announced to the Lloyd team,during weight lifting,that he IS returning to coach this fall. Straight from the coaches mouth!!! :dancingpa

Hmmmmmm..... I wonder what the story is here. Was he trying to get the Beechwood job? Did he read BGP and think he may have not been an acceptable candidate for some of the present coaches or faculty? Did he have a change of heart? Or was it never his intention to do anything but stay. I don't know, but It sure is fun to speculate at this time of the year. :lol:

Lloyd is fortunate they have a quality HC like Roy Lucas Jr. He's done a fine job in Erlanger and I'm sure they'll be successful as long as he roams the sidelines. Glad to see all the speculation is over, now the kids won't have to worry about losing their coach 7 months before the new season begins.

I talked with Coach Cooley last nite and he also said he met with Coach Lucas yesterday and Coach Lucas never put his name in the hat for the Beechwood job. Asked how long Coach Cooley would be away from football and he said he was not sure definitely next year. I respect Coach Cooley and beleive in what he was telling me last night. So Coach Lucas is to return to coach for the Jugg's end of story. JD
