June 13, 201214 yr Durant best player in the NBA. Not even close. While I hate LeBron and like KD I can't agree with this at all. First, the not even close statement is not even close to being accurate. LeBron is a beast on both ends of the floor, KD is a beast on one end only.
June 13, 201214 yr LeBron was the 3rd best player on the floor last night. Unless one of the two better going forward is DWade, the Heat won't win a game in this one. James (and Wade) have to play better for them to have a fighter's chance. I thought LeBron played a really good game. Seemed to me he was what was keeping the Heat in the game (after the hot shooters in the early going). He attacked the basket, drew fouls, and was aggressive with the ball in his hands.

I need proof Durant is better in the clutch. When Lebron has 'failed' in the 4th it's highly documented, scrutinized and dissected beyond belief and like no other. He carried the Cavaliers and their roster of clowns and defeated the world champion Detroit Pistons in Detroit by scoring 35 of his 45 points in the 4th quarter and OT of an ECF game. He dominated games 6 and 7(both elimination games against the Celtics last week). I can add to this if needed. What has Durant done? Hitting a game winning shot at the buzzer isn't the only definition of clutch. How can you prove who is the better teammate from your keyboard in Kentucky? More versatile? Are you blind?
June 13, 201214 yr Lebron did struggle against the length of OKC late in the game though. Seemed he had a hard time getting a clean look all game. This is OKC's MO. They will challenge his shots but they aren't going to give him the basket like the Celtics were in the conference finals. Heat may need to run some sets for him rather than just giving him the ball and having him do what ever.

When things get tight their offense stalls big time and if Wade and James aren't hitting then they have problems.

I'll give you the offense but the fallacy that Lebron is a lock down defender is getting old. At times when he really really wants to he can lock down but I haven't even seen him do it for a whole game yet. Just because he can run down fast breaks and get blocks from behind it doesn't mean he is a good defender.

I've always said he plays the same win or lose and if it is a problem then that is on Scott Brooks. Only he has the power to stop it.

And that's one reason why 80's and 90's bball is more respected than today's game. You guarded your position then. Nowadays superstars guard the easiest matchup to save themselves for offense.
