Scott County 2012/2013

Basketball season for 2012/2013 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Scott County ? Remember, please be constructive.

Scott County graduated three starters: Tamron Manning, Isaiah Ivey, and Josh Harris. Manning and Ivey represented the majority of the Cards offense, so replicating their scoring punch will be a challenge. Harris was a starting post in the 6'3-6'4 range with a decent frame who rebounded the ball well and had the speed to get out in transition; he was somewhat foul prone though, so his back-ups likely gained important minutes going forward. In terms of their length and athleticism, the contributions that these three made defensively are unlikely to be replaced. Given the running, pressing, trapping style that Scott Co usually plays, the degree to which Coach Hicks is able to fill the defensive voids left by their departure will likely determine how much of a traditional Scott County style that they will be able to play defensively. The backcourt of Richardson and Gilbert is definitely serviceable and one that will be able to score, but defensively, this will be one of the slower backcourts that the Cards have had in recent memory. The development of wing Jalen Haddix and big Andrew Short will be something to keep an eye on as the season progresses.

Great info on them for this coming year. Wish we would get this on more schools and players.

Thanks for the compliments. Haven't gotten to see as much Kentucky HS teams as I normally would since moving to Texas, but I followed Scott County fairly closely while in the Lexington area, so I was familiar enough with them to offer up an opinion.

I know your time is limited, why this info was special. Always respect your input!!!!

from triple double prospects website:

Scott County HS has received two transfers from outside of the Bluegrass state. 6’9 PF Neil Bunshoten has joined Scott County’s team via Holland, while 6’10 C Jordan Tribble comes to the school from Florida. Both prospects are talented seniors who are being recruited by both mid and high major Division I programs; and both are likely to attend a year of postgraduate prep school after their year at Scott County.

Saw a picture of the foreign exchange student last night from a friend .....very tall, but somewhat on the thin side.

The kid from holland is suppose to be one of the best amateur players in holland. There is a guy in Europe trying to set up a pipeline for players similar to what is happening in Canada. Don't be surprised to see several euros in the future.

Let the fun begin.

Well, that should make the game vs. Johnson Central at Boyd Co. HS more interesting.

Scott Co. getting transfers? That never happens. Hope Hicks still has that picture of Julian Tackett with a goat.

This is about the 3rd school I have heard Jordan Tribble is transferring to. Columbia, Ga. was that latest until I read this. He played at Holmes County this past year (Chris Walker's school) and was ineligible the first part of the season. He played against us the last game of the year but only had about 2 points and 2 rebounds. Has good size but has a long way to go to be any kind of impact player even at the high school level in my humble opinion.

A little off on the location from what I hear.
