June 4, 201214 yr I have already looked into switching to AT&T uverse. Same channels and it costs less anyway. Hard not to go that route at this point. I have friends who love uverse. I just needed a reason to switch.
June 4, 201214 yr We did get MLB Network as a result of the takeover. That's a plus. Without an additional cost? What channel is it?
June 4, 201214 yr Correct. 536/537. Hmmm so they're not in HD? I'm not gonna lie I've become an HD homer, I rarely leave the 900's any more. Will have to check it out when I get home today.

Finding out we have MLB network may be the high light of my day, I'm usually working late during the week but being as that I'm in training the next few weeks I've been looking for something to watch on tv at night. Summer time citcoms leave a lot to be desired.
June 4, 201214 yr That is probably what TW is hoping for. The article referenced an NBC affiliate in TX who was off of TW for months.Definitely. I would say WDRB needs TW more then TW needs WDRB.
June 5, 201214 yr Definitely. I would say WDRB needs TW more then TW needs WDRB. I wouldn't be too sure about that. Since they are an over-the-air broadcaster, I'm thinking local cable subscriptions don't have anything to do with their ad rates. The bigger factor is probably the available households within their broadcast range.

Maybe not with the ad rates but as an advertiser are you going to pay the same rate to advertise with a station who isn't carried by the local cable company as you would one that is? The fact is the homes picking up the signal over-the-air are far and few in between.

My guess is a lot of their advertisers will ask for and receive a reduced rate or rebate, depending how long the standoff with Time-Warner lasts.
