May 31, 201214 yr She is 100% responsible and 100% wrong in her actions. As adults, we are responsible for what we do. Yes I agree. As an adult we are responsible. He is 18 and considered an adult, should he get in trouble also for what he did, he cost a person their life for 400$. They all knew what would happen to her and she was set up apparently.
May 31, 201214 yr Do I even need to post in this thread. The teacher is an idiot for falling for a student like that. The boy won a bet. I'm never for betting on fibbing on my junk, but the kid has gaul. You don't need to post anymore since you see nothing wrong with what the boy did.

May 31, 201214 yr No doubt that what the kid did was a stupid thing to do, but what sort of punishment would be appropriate? Kick him out of school with his friends who all bet. If not they will be a distraction.
May 31, 201214 yr MT Ref, what rule did the boy violate? Students have a code of standards also to go with such as respect, etc. I'm sure nothing in the handbook says you can't bet on sex with teachers, but I'm sure it says respect teachers and act appropriately. Which they didn't. I bet they probably broke rules by betting money illegally and accepting. Not sure. Do you not think what they did was wrong? I know she is stupid, but still she was setup and failed.

Of course it was wrong but I don't see where the student should get in trouble unless there is strict wording in the school handbook to support it. Having sex in and of itself is not enough to punish him.

They all knew what would happen to her and she was set up apparently. He did not cost her anything. HER actions and choices are the problem here. Don't take that as agreeing with what he did, just that no matter what he did, she had free will to NOT engage in sexual conduct with the student.
May 31, 201214 yr He did cost her a job, what about his actions, we all agree with that her actions were wrong, but he had a choice as an adult too to not do what he did, knowing the consequences for her.

She is responsible for herself! She cost herself her own job. She was not forced into having sex with a student.
June 1, 201214 yr I would imagine collecting on an illegal wager could be an issue. I doubt however that in their state gaming code they have a banging your teacher first provision.

But if teachers could lose their job over this, I am surprised that these schools do not have anything in their student code of conduct that says if you sleep with a teacher you will get expelled.

Can't do that. Students have an automatic out clause. "He/she told me if I didn't then I would fail the class." What judge/jury is going to vote against a high school student who says that, regardless if they are 18-19 or younger? In fact, a vigilant principal/teaching staff would recognize warning signs and do everything to prevent inappropriate behavior by the teacher.
June 1, 201214 yr You don't need to post anymore since you see nothing wrong with what the boy did. Well, just because he is 18, doesn't make him a man. He is just of legal age. Sounds like the kind of guy I would have hung out with in high school. I hung with the guys who were jocks, and or were having sex with the sexually active girls in the high school. But now that I think about it, apparently the teacher was putting signs out there that she was the tyoe of teacher to have sex with students. Or else, why would they bet on whom would get the goods? I can name one teacher that I had in grades 7-12 that seems as if she would do something like that. The rest I could not imagine doing something like that, although some were smoking hot. So why place a bet on something like that, unless you either have money to lose or you have a strong feeling.
June 1, 201214 yr Author Kick him out of school with his friends who all bet. If not they will be a distraction. He's 18. He probably graduated.
