But once again, the majority give the male a pass. I agree the woman should have said no. She is responsible for the results. But in NO WAY do I agree the boy and his friends should escape repercussions. Every time this subject comes up on BGP I am literally sickened anew by the absolutely astounding level of "atta boy" or "boys will be boys" attitude. And I thank GOD my son isn't that kind of man.

What repercussions can be levied to the one 18 year old who appears to have graduated? It's not a crime on his part.
June 5, 201214 yr What repercussions can be levied to the one 18 year old who appears to have graduated? It's not a crime on his part. Not sure, but that's not my point. What if she were his boss at a company that forbade co-worker relationships? The main point of my post is the callous "atta boy" attitude of some posters about young men/boys "scoring"...that is the crux of my angst.

While I won't say I'd go as far to place a bet on bedding a teacher I can say that if I were 17-18 years old and had a chance to bed one of my teachers I can't say I wouldn't have done it.

The main point of my post is the callous "atta boy" attitude of some posters about young men/boys "scoring"...that is the crux of my angst. The crux of my angst is that you are naive. All these what if's make no sense. Why should he be punished. He is a kid, whether he is 17 or a legal adult at 18, he is still a high schooler. It is what it is. Many, not all, but many men look at sexual conquests as "scoring". The sexual revolution has allowed women to do so as well. Keep It Real already told you. There is a good chance your son is no different. If he has hot female teachers, he fantasizes about them and will try to score if he is audacious and sly enough, and the teacher is sending off that type of energy. Everytime this subject comes up, I am surprised by the naivete of many posters. I'm sorry, I don't live in Pleasantville. Your two black roommates never used the "N" word (in front of you); your son doesn't think of sex (who can around their mom). I mean seriously, why don't the holier than thou posters start BGP2- The June Cleaver edition. Jeez. High school boys have sex, even ones that go to parochial schools. The students will never be punished because they have a built in out clause - the teacher told me I would fail the class; semester; year, etc. It's a no lose situation for a student, so why be mad that they have an advantage. You cannot lose if you don't play the game.

In the spirit of "keeping it real" I'm single so I'd let her take me home from a bar today...

You cannot lose if you don't play the game. When I thank God my son isn't like this, I mean that my son respects women, and that he always has. Did he THINK things? Most likely. Did he actively try to "play the game"? No. And for those of you who think I don't know my son, you are dead wrong. All "boys" or "men" aren't out to gain notches in their belts. My son isn't unique. But what IS different is that boys/men like my son had people in their lives who taught them respect for not only women, but others in general. When behavior was discovered that was not respectful, it was addressed as a serious offense. With regard to respecting women in particular, I PERSONALLY addressed an IM conversation I found that I found to be offensive to his girlfriend at the time. It's a lot harder to address that behavior in the way I did than to dismiss it as "boys will be boys" behavior. It was extraordinarily awkward and uncomfortable.

The teacher cannot lose if they don't play the game. I have no love or respect for any whom doesn't love or respect themselves. That woman teacher has no respect for anything if the energy she was sending out implied that she would sex a student, and it was so strong students bet on the energy. Teacher played the dating sex with a student game and lost. "The game is rigged. You cannot lose if you don't play." -Marla Daniels (man The Wire had some serious life lessons)
June 13, 201214 yr The Wire moved me like no other television show. For sure. You can learn a lot from The Wire.
