If you keep it around that temp the jel will do it's job and hold it at 70%. Fill the jel jar about once a month with cigar glycol. Cigars will last for years in the right environment. This may be a dumb question but is cigar glycol going to come with the gel jar I ordered? Also, will the humidor have a thermometer on it so I know the temp?

You will need to buy a bottle of glycol (Liquor Barn or a cigar store) but you have a good 30 days before you will need it. A pint is $5 or so and will last a year. No thermometer with this one. I keep all of mine in my basement. Temp stays pretty stable there. In general, if you keep your thermostat in your house below 74 you can sit them on the desk and not worry about them. Mrs C likes the house too warm for just sitting my humidors out on a table. When I didn't have a basement I used to use one of those little wine cooler refrigerators and set it on the highest settin which held right at 68, and sit my humidors in it.

May 25, 201214 yr Author ^ Do you just sit that whole bottle of the gel in the humidor? If you are talking about the jar with the bubbly thing in it, yes you just take the lid off and sit it in the humidor. A bottle of glycol will need to be put into something, a jar or a humi-disk.

May 27, 201214 yr CWF I need to restock with some milds, any recommendations? I just had a Nub Habano and it was excellent. Some think they are just a novelty cigar but the Habano, Maduro, Connecticut and Cameroon are all good smokes in my book. They are short but thick and will last at least 45 minutes.
