Pensacola-Didi Gregorius 3-5 with 2 runs...Kyle Lotzkar allowed 2 earned in 7 innings with no walks and 10 strikeouts...Kyle Lotzkar has no walks and 18 strikeouts in his last two starts over 13 innings. In his first 19.2 innings in AA he had 18 walks and 20 strikeouts. Bakersfield-Billy Hamilton went 0-2 but had 2 more walks and another steal (63)...31 BB to 42 K's Billy is improving at the dish...

Not only is he batting good but he is taking walks and hasn't had an error in the field in like 14 or something games which is great for him...He should get moved up too AA Pensacola soon as long as the current SS at Pensacola Didi Gregorius continues to play good...In order for Hamilton to move up Gregorius must also move up a level which shouldn't be a problem considering Louisville is the worst team in AAA and are without Janish who was their SS...They could also shift Didi to 2B and him and Hamilton could play together, that would be very exciting... They could also go ahead and try Hamilton in CF as well before moving him up...If he does okay then they can move him up to play CF in AA and Gregorius can stay at AA to play SS, with the CF Lamarre getting promoted to AAA where their is also no decent CFers... Another option would be to include Gregorius in a trade with someone else to get a bat to help the Reds...It's just hard to do anything when 2 of your better prospects play the same position and are both at basically the same stage in their development...And signing BP to an extension didn't help, Gregorius could have replaced him at 2B...With Cozart and Phillips, it's probably best to go ahead very soon and move Hamilton to CF and maybe even move Didi to LF, they both have the athleticism to switch positions... One could argue for taking in a Dylan Bundy start, or maybe heading out to watch Trevor Bauer or Jurickson Profar. But a pretty convincing case could be made to travel to Bakersfield to see Hamilton. He may not be the top prospect, but he may be the most exciting prospect in years because on any given night he may produce a "can you believe that?" play. If nothing else, one would likely see Hamilton steal a base. He's stolen at least one bag in 41 of the 59 games he's played, and this week he produced his first four-steal game of the year. With 69 steals in 60 Bakersfield games, Hamilton is on pace to finish the year with 161—or 16 more than the pro record of 145 set by Vince Coleman. A better way to contextualize Hamilton's thievery: In the past decade the minors stolen-base leader typically finished with somewhere between 70-79. Along with Hamilton, only Eric Young Jr. (83 in 2006) and Freddy Guzman (90 in 2003) had touched 80 in that time. Hamilton is on pace to top 80 steals before the end of June. Still not impressed? Consider this: the Blue Jays' Anthony Gose finished second in the minors last year with 70 steals. Hamilton may top that total before he goes to bed tonight.

Dioner Navarroy went 2-3 with a walk, HR (2) and 2 RBI. Bill Rhinehart is a guy I believe the Reds should consider promoting to the big club at some point this season he is a Left Handed Hitting OF with pop and has been really hot lately after struggling out of the gate. He was acquired for Gomes from the Nats. Gathright continues to produce as well. The line looks nice with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts, but he didn’t exactly pound the strikezone with 99 pitches and just 58 strikes. Still, Cingrani pushed his season ERA to 1.17 in 69.1 innings with 17 walks and 85 strikeouts. Ryan LaMarre extended his hitting streak to 6 games. Cingrani has become one of the Reds best trade chips. Bakersfield-Hamilton with 1 hit and 1 RBI no SBs, he did push his errorless streak to 15 games.
June 11, 201214 yr Author 6/10 Lville-Joey Gathright went 2-5 with an RBI and a run. Neftali Soto went 2-4 with a HR (8) and 3 RBI. Donnie Joseph threw 2 perfect innings with 2 strikeouts. Joey Gathright must really want to get back to the Majors. He is hitting .328 in 16 games since being signed. Neftali Soto is hitting .344 over his last 8 games. Donnie Joseph locked up his first save for the Bats with two good innings. Pensacola-Didi Gregorius went 2-4 with a walk, RBI and a run. Didi Gregorius drove in the go ahead run in the 10th innings. Gregorius is hitting .342 in his last 10 games with as many walks as strikeouts. Bakersfield-Billy Hamilton went 3-5 with a double, RBI, steal (71) and a run. Dayton-Kurtis Muller went 2-5 with a run. Kurtis Muller has been an absolute lineup changer for Dayton since being called up. He is hitting .338/.427/.535 in 18 games.
