April 18, 201214 yr http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/obamas-war-on-pot-20120216?stop_mobi=yes Back when he was running for president in 2008, Barack Obama insisted that medical marijuana was an issue best left to state and local governments. "I'm not going to be using Justice Department resources to try to circumvent state laws on this issue," he vowed, promising an end to the Bush administration's high-profile raids on providers of medical pot, which is legal in 16 states and the District of Columbia. But over the past year, the Obama administration has quietly unleashed a multi*agency crackdown on medical cannabis that goes far beyond anything undertaken by George W. Bush. The feds are busting growers who operate in full compliance with state laws, vowing to seize the property of anyone who dares to even rent to legal pot dispensaries, and threatening to imprison state employees responsible for regulating medical marijuana. With more than 100 raids on pot dispensaries during his first three years, Obama is now on pace to exceed Bush's record for medical-marijuana busts. "There's no question that Obama's the worst president on medical marijuana," says Rob Kampia, executive director of the Marijuana Policy Project. "He's gone from first to worst."

April 19, 201214 yr Leave pot alone, stop the meth and coke from coming into America from Mexico and S.A. I got news for you the meth isn't coming from anywhere but the good old USA
April 19, 201214 yr I got news for you the meth isn't coming from anywhere but the good old USA  I guess he thought the Mexicans were the ones making those portable labs in cars and the reason you have to go to pharmacist for Sudafed now.
April 19, 201214 yr Finally. Something with legs for me to be disappointed in Obama with. I don't understand why he would waste time, money and resources to go after medicinal marijuana. I'd love to hear his reasoning behind it.

I'd love to hear his reasoning behind it.It's ridiculous and a complete turn around from his previous position on the issue.
April 19, 201214 yr There isn't any good reason for it. I suspect it's an over-correction on his part so he doesn't appear "soft on crime" or something.

A friend of mine is a runner in San Francisco and was a shop manager. They are shutting down everyone out there, whether licensed (like they were) or not. Now, personal opionion. Marijuana should be legal as long as cigarettes are. It's the perception of marijuana that makes it appear worse than it really is. Additionally, I don't see how you can sell Everclear in stores, which, in my opinion, just destroys you, but not marijuana. Sell it, tax it and save money on law enforcement and jail space.
April 19, 201214 yr I got news for you the meth isn't coming from anywhere but the good old USA Every week there is a bust in Clermont Co. Ohio regarding a lab getting busted.

April 19, 201214 yr I got news for you the meth isn't coming from anywhere but the good old USAThe labs are the biggest problem in the US. That's where the junk meth is coming from. However there is huge amounts of much better quality meth coming in from Mexico. A few years ago the state police in conjunction with the DEA took down a huge meth operation in Henderson. They caught on because the quality of meth showing up in local busts was much higher than the "bath tub" stuff. They eventually tracked it back to a business in town they were dealing out of. They were driving back and forth to Arizona to pick up their supply.

My goodness, why dont you check the news and research before jumping to conclusions. Pathetic. Mexico is the primary source of methamphetamines consumed in the U.S., according to the Department of Justice’s National Drug Threat Assessment 2011. Just check out the pictures of the labs MX has.
