April 10, 201214 yr This is case in point why it is bad and good to be in the Big East. On one hand the schedule is not that strong. There is no trying to argue around that. Whether they tried or not to improve their opponents, you are scrapping to trying to land any decent foe due to conference realignment. The good side is that they are still in a BCS conference. The degree of difficulty of running the table is a lot less than most power conference teams so your path to a big money bowl - or a national title game - is much easier.
April 10, 201214 yr The stars appear to be aligning for Charlie Strong. I am not a U of L fan, but I am a Charlie Strong fan. I believe he is a great coach that for some reason was picked over quite a few times in his career for head coaching positions. He now has a veteran team in year 3 of his system and a favorable schedule to make some noise. For all the slime balls in Coaching (Petrino) it's good to see the good guys catch some breaks.

After that they should be able to sell out their remaining conference home games, other than Temple.......they may have a Big East championship on the line.
April 11, 201214 yr WOW that is an incredibly weak schedule! I'm kind of finding myself pulling for Coach Strong becasue he seems like a great guy to lead Lville. With that schedule they very well should end up a top 10 team in America based on win/loss. Get a good bowl draw and he really has a great chance to recruit off of the momentum they should gain next season. This is about as down as I've been on UK football. As bad as it is I think they could end up top 10 with that schedule too!

April 12, 201214 yr I do know that Georgia backed out of a Home/Away deal with the Cardinals. So I know that UL has made attempts to play better football programs.

April 12, 201214 yr In fairness to UL, we know the schedule is weak, but what do you want them to do? They are shut out of a major conference and if you are not in one you are not going to get a lot of good games.
