2013 10th Region

Featured Replies

Hello Captain America.

Wow. I stand corrected. I knew the kid was a stud, but that's very impressive.

Don't get me wrong, I think Monroe is outstanding. Bach is a year younger and a potential Division 1 talent. The way he finished the season I think he's the most talented and savy pg in the region.

I agree he is savy and is very talented. He plays under control, which i really like. Just Not sure D1 is in his future. At a buck thirty he needs to eat some donuts though.

My Top 5, 7 months before the season starts would be:

1. Montgomery County- Would think they'd be the preseason favorite again. Return three starters (Omar Prewitt, Darius Jones, Austin Crisp) from a 23-11 campaign, including the best player in the region IMO in Prewitt. Crisp and Jones will only be Juniors.

2. Scott- Only loses one senior from this year. Senior Nick Jackson won't surprise anyone this year.

3. Pendleton County- Returns three starters (Mason Monroe, Garrett Appleman, Ethan Moore) and their first two off the bench.

4. Campbell County- Returns two All-Region performers in Nate McGovney and Corey Holbrook.

5. Harrison County- Only lose 2 contributing seniors from a 17-12 campaign, but one was All-Region performer Caleb Ford.

I should know by now to not exclude Clark County and Mason County, from my top 5, but looks like I did again..[/QUOTE]

Flying under the radar sometimes has it's advantages.....biggrin.gif

I can't see the 10th being a very strong region next season.

I can't see the 10th being a very strong region next season.

The 10th Region wasn't supposed to be very good this season either. Maybe it wasn't very good as a whole, but one team distanced itself from the pack and represented the 10th well at Rupp. I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen next year too.

Only once in the past five years has the 10th Region representative not won at least one game at Rupp.

The Black Devils have some talent, to get them to play as a team is were they need to improve, Dawson Cooper had some nice games but struggled, Dalton Schalch had several games(in Bracken County Tournament he had 5 3's in a row), he's dead on from the field. Darrin Edwards has a nice shot from behind the arc as well on the inside, Justin Pilosky not the same player as his brother but got some starting time on the floor. Tyler Burns should be on the floor next year, played with some surgical clamps while playing last season(hernia).

I would have Brossart as my #2 team behind Montgomery Co. They won the Freshman tourney 2 years ago. They will all be juniors this coming year. Look for them to contend strong for the title the next 2 years.

37th will be another dogfight next year with one very good team not making it to Region. With what each has returning I would say the order is Campbell County, Scott and Brossart.

I still don't see the 10th as a strong region next season. No team will have more than 2 good ball players.
