I do not live on here. Some of you do. Individual camps are ok. Team camps are not ok when they go off to places such as Trooper Island or Camp Feltner and have private scrimmages with each other or other teams. What is wrong with this logic?

Thanks for finding that. Next question which has already been asked, how does a specific individual mean the whole team? This is the loophole that needs closed so that these multiple team camps are eliminated. #nevergonnastop

That would result in the district receiving more state money than it was entitled to because the state uses attendance figures to calculate school funding at about $4,000 per student per year — and out of district students don’t qualify. The investigators also are looking into the rehiring of Musick by the board after it had accepted his resignation early this year, according to the source. The Kentucky Department of Education’s legal counsel already has told the district rescinding Musick’s resignation is illegal, but the board has not taken any further action on the issue. Also at issue are financial irregularities including in-school fundraisers for which proceeds are not accounted for, and lack of documentation for the sale of some school property declared surplus, the source said.

Then GRC would have been breaking the newly instituted rules governed by KHSAA Bylaw 23 as so many other schools appear to be doing.

I thought about that. However, if I reported it to the KHSAA now, it would reveal my identity to them on here. I would like to remain anonymous. They have enough information about this situation.

My GRC team plays against Madison Southern in a scrimmage 2 weeks from tomorrow. GRC will not go into full pads with contact until Saturday, August 2nd. Madison Southern was hitting as of 7/12/2014 and maybe earlier. Safety? There is no safety. If any of our kids get hurt because Madison Southern has had 3 extra weeks to prepare for a scrimmage in full pads, then there might be a lawsuit against a lot of folks.

:no::no::no: Old school version of Bylaw 23 explicitly states that singular activities such as all-star contests and skill combines are allowed to have contact with full pads. The new version of Bylaw 23 does NOT state anywhere that this is an allowable activity. Again, you are incorrect.

Pertaining to the ability to participate in football camps with contact was allowed according to the 2013-2014 version of KHSAA's Bylaw 23: Bylaw 23: 2013-2014 version: http://khsaa.org/handbook/bylaws/20132014/bylaw23.pdf (3) From the earlier of the day following the last date of school or June 1, through June 24, the following stipulations are in place: a. The restrictions of Bylaw 24, Sec. 2 (Restrictions on Football and Boys’ Basketball) and its interpretations including the fact that school money cannot be expended for football activities are in place; b. A helmet is the only equipment that can be issued, and can only be worn during coach supervised, on campus activity in compliance with off-season restrictions. This equipment prohibition does not preclude the issuance of protective gear to individual athletes for specific singular activities such as an all-star contest or to attend a skills combine; and c. There is no KHSAA catastrophic insurance during this period. No wording similar to that which is present in underlined and bold letters above exists in the 2014-2015 version of KHSAA's Bylaw 23. In other words, KHSAA took it out and it is now against the rules to participate in football camps with contact prior to August 1st. KHSAA needs to update Bylaw 23 to state that the only time full pads can be worn with contact occurring will be: 1.) The 10 practice days of Spring Practice. 2.) After August 1st until the end of the regular and playoff seasons.

Would love to see a KHSAA ruling on this.

They contradicted themselves with the new rules in Bylaw 23. They will need to make a ruling or somebody will bring a lawsuit against the KHSAA over this.

KHSAA implicitly states with that bylaw that practice occurs at camps; therefore, contact cannot occur at camps until August 1st.

Football camps where contact occurs outside of the aforementioned accepted dates is a slap in the face to every program that abides by the rules. Your reasoning is not correct regarding this issue. If your reasoning agrees with the KHSAA, then they are wrong as well.
