And by the fourth round there can only be one Louisville school in the playoffs dispite the fact that year in and out they dominate the top 3.

Well if Manual was the team to get to the Final you are right but I think that the schools with the larger numbers are going to be the ones to move on, which is why I think that this is a measure which benifits the Catholic Schools more than anyothers and also undercuts the unity of the public schools at the same time. Basically the Catholic schools have won the public private debate, even though the publics voted them out. It is divide and conquer and the Catholic schools just took the publics to the wood shed.

Yeah but what happens when your guys are so beat up the first three weeks they get knocked off by a team they would normally stomp in the finals? Football is a game where injuries matter and the tougher teams you play the more likely there will be more injuries. I think the 5 or 6 class system would be better than this. Looking at from Manual's prespective we would play Male in the old rivalry game, then play Male again then St. X and then Trinity. A run like that would be murder on injuries.

Yeap and look at it this way, the last few years St.X Trinity Male and Manual have been consistantly in the top ten teams, so how exactly is the Championship game worth anything if the best teams play in the first three games?

Yeah what this does is basically makes the Catholic school powers beat up on Louisville schools, this way the county schools will never support a prop 20 like measure again. It makes it so the Louisville schools are guaranteed a slot and the non Louisville schools are guaranteed a spot which only benifits the non-Louisville schools in saying that they went farther in the playoffs only to lose to a Louisville school in the Championships every year. Basically a win for St. X and Trinity because it is a divide and conquer strategy. The County schools will be too happy to care that they are basically cutting their own throats in the long term. No Louisville teams means no Louisville gate.

I think the Dragons will play St. X real tough, and the Tigers doen't travel real well but I would guess that is being addressed this week. Still I foresee a Trinity St. X title game again this year.

I think that we should get rid of districts all together in this system and just play regions, that would give everyone atleast one or two games to play whoever they want and then they would play the rest of the region and send the top four teams from the region. Example :Region 2 Bullitt Central, Central Hardin, Nelson Co., North Hardin, Butler, DuPont Manual, Male, PRP, St. Xavier St. X's schedule could look like this. Now my question is under a playoffs situation, do we still send four teams from each district and then have 32 teams which is kinda weird since most districts outside the cities only have four teams or are we only going to send two for a 16 team playoff and how UNFAIR is that for a teams in the NKY, Lexington, and Louisville areas that would be good but almost never get to the playoffs. I mean looking at the Louisville districts, under a 16 team playoff that would mean that most the time St.X and Male are going and in the other district Trinity and Ballard are going. Most years Manual, Butler, PRP, Seneca, Eastern, and a number of other good NKY and Lex teams would be left out in the cold.

No stop it right there. You are being entirely unfair about my stance!! I think that there ARE advantages for the privates. Ie. Title 9, numbers, ability to attrach players from a wider range. That doesn't mean I have EVER said that I don't want them to play Manual!!! I have been against prop 20 from the beginning but I am not going to sit here and listen to private schoolers cry about the fact that the publics brought it up. How many championships do St. X and Trinity account for since 4 A started? Isn't it like 2/3rds of them? Sorry but that points to an advantage!! They do exist!! That is all I have ever said!!! I never have accused them of cheating, I never have said I don't think Manual can compete with them. And for you to misrepresent me in a Thread that your school is not even a participant in kinda burns me. The only time I am slinging mud is when people act like there is no advantage or that Manual is the cause of the problem and the privates are some golden example on a hill.

That has never made us upset! We are fine with the status quo Rockmom, it is your guys that have a problem with us because of what school we went to, we have been very clear we want the games to continue whether things are evened out or not.
