  1. By that logic a freshman should be able to walk into Ohio State and not be intimidated. these are still kids, D-1 or not. And besides they are not all D-1 kids. Plenty of non D-1 guys out there. #33 the Sophmore DE was playing due to the Starting DE #44 (6'6" 240) who was out with an injury from last weeks game. So your telling me that the Sophmore getting his first Start on Varsity, at UC, in the Herbstreit Challenge.... your right, no reason to get nervous...... Lots of those types of players out there. TM rotates OL, WR, DB, DL, etc. Just like Ohio State does, to get their feet wet, Injuries just pushed some farther along forward. Not making any excuses but don't disrespect the kids, by making a blanket statement like that.
  2. After a night to sleep on it, the thing that sticks out in my head is that the HHS kicker was AWESOME. TM starting on the 20 everytime, and on the flip side it seemed that HHS was starting on the 40 or 50 most everytime. Thats a whole lot shorter field. TM had to drive the length of the field 2 times and scored on both. Personally I thought that Both Offenses moved the ball very easily. HHS missed some opportunities with fumbles. TM also left 14 points on the board as well. Goal Line and right before half fumble inside the 20. Neither Defense had an answer for the others Offense. TM was a little star struck early on in the game due to being in the herbie and at UC it seemed.
  3. http://www.twoodfootball.com couple of write ups on the game.
  4. Wanted to stop by and congratulate HHS. I thought TM would do MUCH better. But the slow start killed them. Both teams made a ton of mistakes. But TM not scoring from the 1 then dropping the TD pass on 4th down was just crazy. Then the first half fumble in the Red Zone hurt as well. Of course TM needs to learn how to play Run defense. That was killing them all night. That and the kickoffs by TM. lots of lost yardage there. and HHS kicker was in the end zone everytime. I also can question the fake punt call, they were stuffing HHS O at the time. Pin them back and gain some field position. TM will be fine for the playoffs, D2 is not as grueling as D1 in Ohio. And to be honest HHS runs the ball very well, their OL is VERY good.
  5. Thats noting, but a disgruntled couple of coaches who lost kids from their program because they run bad programs. And the coach who started it all, has a public fued going on with the Trotwood school district. Its really all ridiculous. And if anyone puts any stock into this they are wasting their time and energy. Oh yeah.... GAME DAY!
  6. Option game???......They are a Spread team
  7. I love this post. Will be a great game fellas, I look for both teams to play hard and fight till the end.
  8. Sportz Addict you have a PM
  9. Jimmy's and Joe's???? I know this is all in fun. And I as much as anyone like to fuel the fire....LOL show a little gamesmanship. Personally, I see this game as a good matchup. Its my understanding there are a lot of 2 way players for HHS. And I think Trotwood will wear them down. Trotwood has 1 player going both ways and he rotates on both sides of the ball. So I do not think the same game will be played in the 3rd and 4th as in the 1st and early 2nd quarters.
  10. Shaw is one of Ohio's fastest players. Won the national track meet as well. Videos on http://www.twoodfootball.com then click player videos. And Shaw will be playing RB at Penn State. Passing on Michigan, Florida, Nebraska, Tennessee, and WVU. But I guess HHS has 2 better RB as well.
  11. Come on now, on that video, 1 WR went to Eastern Michigan, 1 to Michigan, 1 to Purdue. QB going to UC, passed on WVU, Minnesota, Nebraska, Illinois, and Oregon. I doubt HHS has any QB's better than Britt. I think its jsut your bias. How many offers does Cecil have? Can Guidugli beat out Cecil? Thats what I thought. Trotwood is on a Mission this season. HHS will soon find out. They played Colerain to 7-6 loss to the Cards in the Game scrimmage. Trotwood will be ready for HHS, the question is who has HHS faced to be ready for what Trotwood is going to throw at them?
  12. FWIW Britt completed 76% of his passes last week. Last years OL was not that good. This years is MUCH better. Bigger, Stronger, Faster. Probably the best OL Trotwood has had in some years. That highlight clip was not an accurate sampling of his play. The Trotwood O is all about short to intermediate passing. With some shots down field. And I assure you 4.69 is not what he runs. He will be faster than most anyone on the field. Just wait, you'll see.
  13. 5 Cov Cath 3 Trotwood-Madison, OH 3 Henry Clay 1 Lexington Cath 1 Breathitt County 1 Lexington Christian 1 Ashland Blazer 1 Desales 1 South Laurel 1 Owensboro Tiebreaker #1 32
  14. TM is better than Col. De Sales. Not a D1 like Elder, X, Moeller, or Colerain. People in Cincy tend to look down on D2 schools but that is a good division of football. A D2 but still a good football team. Who scrimmaged Colerain, and in the game situation played them to a 6-7 loss, but Colerain O did not score in the game portion of it. They did score 3 times in the Goal Line part of the scrimmage. Plus the TM Kicker who also punts, was out of town die to family. So the Freshman kicker and they rotated punters went vs Colerain.
  15. In Ohio your playoff position has everything to do with the records of the teams you beat. Last yr TM had some teams who did not win as much as they normally do. And in the playoffs 2 OL and 2 DL were out due to injury as well as TM was playing their 3rd string RB due to other injuries. Make no mistake, Highlands will be facing a good football team, who has all gotten into the Fox hole, and on a mission this season.
  16. If they can block the Trotwood DL. They held Marion Franklin to 8 yards Rushing for the game. And 17 Passing. Now I expect HHS to do MUCH better, but its not as cut and dry as you make it out to be. TM got up 3 scores, in the first quarter then took the air out of the ball and won going away. They had no answer for the TM attack.
  17. I know that he is a special player, who has added a great dimesnion to the TM attack. He is someone who will kill a D if they don't key on him.
  18. I am surprised to see Trotwood getting any votes since this is a KY site. The week 1 game score is misleading, all the TM starters were out VERY early in the third and they were subbing 2's in in the second quarter. could have easily been 60-0
  19. TM Defense held Marion Franklin to 8 yards rushing and 17 passing. This game could have been ugly, JV's were in early 3rd quarter.
  20. Fighting a little insomnia tonight. So here is some info on a couple of kids we were asked to add to the site Got their names this evening emailed to us. to put on the website. http://www.twoodfootball.com Keithsean Foster - TE/WR/DE 6'6.5" 230 Robert Green Jr. OL 6'5" 275 See you all in about 5 weeks. I am going on a sales trip for work for the rest of the week, and then on a weeks vacation to Montego Bay.
  21. Well, I wont post when the others come in the next 2 weeks. there are 3 others I did not post, and there are about 3-5 more in the next 2 weeks that will be in school. Not all are seniors, but the Dayton Public schools levy failed this year, and they cut almost all the sports in DPS. So there is an influx of those kids going to schools in the area, Trotwood seems to be getting the top kids, and Centerville is also getting a few as well. To make matters even more weird is that the local Catholic schools are getting kids fleeing from there to go to public schools and thats how Shaw came back to Trotwood. there are 4 from Dayton Chaminade Julienne who are expected to enroll at Trotwood. the private school kids have always lived in Trotwood. And the DPS district borders Trotwood's so kids are either living with relatives in Trotwood or moving.
  22. That Colerain team was VERY good, and there are many who are excited about this season. And what potentially could happen. however no one is counting their chickens so to speak. Highlands will be a tough game for Trotwood. Great program, great tradition, etc. So for anyone to say Trotwood rolls them is crazy talk. Players have to play the game still. On how the team will do, .... Ohio high Magazine, who runs http://www.jjhuddle.com , picked Trotwood to win the D2 State Championship this season. Last season they picked 3 or 4 of the winners, so take that for what its worth. My thoughts are that they should go deep into the playoffs, but that depends on injuries, match-ups, and plain dumb luck. I see them 8-2, 9-1, 10-0 tough games vs Northmont, Piqua, Highlands, and Marion Franklin
  23. No, not one of the coaches, I have 3 Sons who have been throught the program. #2 is a Junior, and #3 is a Freshman, #1 Graduated 2 yrs ago. I have spoken to Coach Douglass quite often, and know that he really works for his players to get them into school. I am an active member of the Booster Club, so I am around the program "Happenings" quite a bit. to be honest I was one of the people complaining and bickering until after my first son was going into his senior year, and saw and heard with my own ears what the coach was doing. *** I must edit, I do coach a Youth team with the Wee Rams (3rd graders). So I am a Trotwood Coach I suppose. LOL But I am sure thats not what you meant.....LOL
  24. FYI: They have been getting the move in kids for only last year and this year. Plus there has been a change going into last season and this one on the coaching staff as well. there has been an overhaul and clearing out the dead weight. There has been several new additions, and Coach Douglass is getting the best coaches out there to teach the new systems on Offense, Defense, and Special Teams. There are only 5 coaches left that were there 2 yrs ago. And one of those was not on staff last season, after some personal issues. They have added, OC, DC, Sp Teams Coord, DL, DL, LB, RB, QB, TE either before last season or right after the season was over. Only the WR, OL, DB, DB coaches remain. And if you look at the lost of college players most were DB's, and WR's.
  25. Rams have a couple of new players move in for the upcoming year. Who have decided to come out for the football team. LB Doug Rippy - University of Nebraska Commit DB Norman Young who had no offers, then after 1 week with the Trotwood team now has 5 from Toledo, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, and Ball State.
