  1. Just read through this thread and I think the overall answer is somewhere in the middle. There have been seriously strange coaching decisions and just flat out unpreparedness in games but also the talent has overall been down and was on the way down in Larkey's last season or so. An example of both. Look at the roster from 9 years ago. Could that roster be a state title contender for anyone? No. On the coaching side, I remember a game a few years ago during the regular season at Knox Central. Knox Central seemed to be a very winnable game going in. They had been running the ball almost all the time. However, they come out in the Rock game and suddenly start throwing all over the field. Did Rock adjust? NEVER! That is a coaching problem. Therefore, some of this is coaching and some of it is talent. I personally really like Scott and think he is an excellent person. He was my 7th grade Social Studies teacher and he was one of the few teachers I paid attention to. As a result, I got a 109% overall grade in his class. That is why it pains me so much to speak ill of his coaching. :(
  2. Last chance before the 1st game next weekend. Any thoughts? I heard they had a scrimmage recently.
  3. WOW! What a game! Glad to hear the boys from Garrard County playing well.
  4. I would love a winning season and to compete for District and Region. The bad news for Rock is that on many of the 4A Top 10 lists I have seen that include Rockcastle County also include Knox and Wayne. It is hard to win District and Region when two other great teams are in your District. I expect a 7-3 record but I do see Rock beating either Knox or Wayne.
  5. For the sake of uniformity, I will copy and paste what I have seen Ram put on most of the preview boards from last pre-season: What does Rockcastle County need to do to improve in 2016? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.
  6. This sounds like a great game. Thanks for the updates.
  7. As much as I hate to say it, Rock gave this game away, Wayne did not outplay Rock.
  8. TOUCHDOWN ROCK! 42 yard TD pass from McClure to Mercer. Rock leads 24-21.
  9. 4th Quarter begins. Wayne County leads 21-18. Rock has the ball.
  10. Punt return for a TD by Wayne County. 2pt conversion is good. Wayne County leads 21-18. :50 left in the 3rd Quarter.
  11. TD pass by Wayne County. Rock leads 18-13. 3rd Quarter.
  12. Who wins the rematch? Wayne County won the 1st meeting by 8 points at home. Rock has looked better since then by going 4-1. To be fair, Wayne County is undefeated since then.
  13. Knox Central is HUGE! If you can win the line of scrimmage, you always have a chance. Therefore, I take the Panthers in this game.
  14. It was good to see the Rockets get the convincing win. I believe they have a shot to win next week as well.
  15. Terrible punt for Rock. EJ rushes for 10 yards to the 50 yard line.
  16. Rock leads 26-0 . McClure rushes for no gain. 3rd and 7. End of the 3rd quarter.
