Just read through this thread and I think the overall answer is somewhere in the middle. There have been seriously strange coaching decisions and just flat out unpreparedness in games but also the talent has overall been down and was on the way down in Larkey's last season or so.
An example of both. Look at the roster from 9 years ago. Could that roster be a state title contender for anyone? No. On the coaching side, I remember a game a few years ago during the regular season at Knox Central. Knox Central seemed to be a very winnable game going in. They had been running the ball almost all the time. However, they come out in the Rock game and suddenly start throwing all over the field. Did Rock adjust? NEVER! That is a coaching problem.
Therefore, some of this is coaching and some of it is talent. I personally really like Scott and think he is an excellent person. He was my 7th grade Social Studies teacher and he was one of the few teachers I paid attention to. As a result, I got a 109% overall grade in his class. That is why it pains me so much to speak ill of his coaching. :(
