Skip, It seems to me that when certain teams are beat by Deming the only way they won was because they got help from officials. But when those very teams beat Deming they do it on talent alone. That always seems to be an excuse from their county rival to the north.

Wonder if the Saints got a little extra help tonight? Hinson better watch out or Coaches may not want to schedule them. Right devoutbballfan?

Yeah I played at Deming and I never lost a game there. Our average margin of victory there was about 15 points.

Chris Owens is the second best junior in the region. Great shooter, handles the ball well, tough defender, all round team player.

I thought we could have a little fun with this thread. What would be the names you would give the gyms in your area. You can use the name they already use or a original one that you like. Here goes: Augusta: The Den Brossart: The Stable Bracken Co.: The Igloo or The Ice Palace Campbell Co.: The Desert Clark Co.: The Nest Deming.: The Devils Dome or The Pit Harrison Co.: The Race Track (I know they sometimes call it the stable but since they are the Throughbreds I tought The Race Track would be proper). Mason Co.: The Royal Palace Montgomery Co.: The Teepee Nicholas Co.: The Hive Paris: The Dog House Pendleton Co.: The Cat House Silver Grove: The Depot St. Pat: The Clover Colosium (sp) What are some other?

Do you cheer for your region regardless of what team is representing your region? I always cheer for my region because it is representing basketball for our entire area. Although it pains me to have to cheer for any of the NKY 10 region teams when they make it. I still do because they are our region representive. What are your thoughts?

If they get a new gym with the school the owners of the Robertson County Funeral could get naming rights. Tommy Ware the owner could name the gym the Warehouse. The school could be called the Robertson County High School Cutters. As in tobbaco cutters.

Everyone is correct on the naming. It was named after Judge O.S. Deming. His children were the ones to donate the land. With the stipulation that it was named in his honor or it was a no go.

Don't be so sure on that. From what I've been told they are currently looking at a couple of pieces of property around the the "Greater Mt. Olivet Metro Area".

Deming started two 7th graders, two eight graders, and 1 freshman. Made a very good showing this weekend. Congrats to Coach Kelsch and the Lady Bears on an undefeated season and Region Championship. Patrick matched his brother with the undefeated freshman season and the Region title. Brother Robin did the same with Augusta's freshman boys when he had Kirk and Company.

Just think of the impact he would have made if he were at Bracken County this year. Along with Chase Crawford who is not even playing ball this year. Put them with Jesse Hall, Tyler Hamilton, and Eli Cooper and think of what Bracken County would have done this year. Fite and Company have done a tremendous job and had a great season but it could have been even better.

I've got the perfect solution LittleRoyal. Let campaign our state legislature to build a multipurpose facility at Blue Licks State Park. Let's say about 10,000. They could hold sporting events, conventions, and concerts. This is the most centralized area in the region. This way no one would have a homecourt advantage.:ylsuper:

I am by no means a Mason County fan. But, Mason has the best facalities in the region and the most seating. Year in and year out the semis and finals are jam packed in the biggest gym in the region. So until there is a bigger gym in the region let common sense prevail and hold it were the most people can be accomadated.

Why? Knowing and talking to many people who are close to this. If and when a new school is built it will most likely be changed to Robertson County. As for the mascot it is still up in the air. Deming was named so because the land that was used for the school was donated by the Deming family. However, they stated that if the school was not named Deming in their honor they would not give the land for the school. That has not set well with alot of the people in the community for years. Many want it changed to Robertson County to give the county more distinction. But what you have to realize is that this is not a done deal as of yet. If the school is built it will be for K-12.
