  1. MY O' MY! Good shooting by B. Boyd
  2. Well, if I didn't hear it come out of both their mouths I won't post either.
  3. I agree with Duvall. He appeared to be good or better than any other catcher I seen this past summer.
  4. Brian Meenach and Bruce Hunt have thrown their hats in the candidate pool. At least those two should be on the staff IMO. I'm sure they have their dis tractors.
  5. Is Rister over 6'? Usually D1 wants a little size. Some of the first questions is college want to know "How big is he, How fast is he, and what his GPA?" Not that Rister not good QB in HS but College is a little different. IMO
  6. Boyd will compete no doubt. Look for Ashland, E. Carter, and Russell to provide plently of competition. There are still a couple of dark horses also.:thumb:
  7. I don't think any other sports are combining, football is due to low numbers. I heard there are only three eight graders next year that play football at Wurtland. I heard in basketball there are few going to transferred from Mckell to Wurtland next year. Mckell had 20 or so try out for 7 grade basketball this year, while Wurtland had to pull up 6 graders to field a team. For what it is worth if my kids lived close to city of greenup they would be wearing the Orange. Better education at Racland, sports should be secondary consideration IMO.
  8. Let's see last yer 132-64 at Sandy Hook. This year in the green house EC over GC 118-40.
  9. Things sure are quiet at GC concerning the Head football coach.:sssh:
  10. Getting quicker feet and working on footwork helps a football player also. I hear the baseball player stay after school and lift weighs also.
  11. Didn't TJ and Chris Alister coach together?
  12. One gripe I have with Fraley/GC Admin has given control of the basketball gym during the last period of the school day. No one except GC basketball players can use the rims. You have football and baseball players that could use just one rim to play bsketball. This has been going on for few months. I believe Fraley could spare a rim for one hour of the day. IMO:madman:
  13. Cheerleading has enough money. LOL
  14. Dont Eastmen and Jones help the Baseball team in weight lifting?
  15. Sophmores still has some untapped talent, if the right coash could get everyone on board. They would beat Russel at Russel their Senior year. That would be a great way to start the season. Break the losing streak GC has @ Mcglone field.:thumb:
  16. For the record, that group of West side boys who were runners up in state had winning seasons from Pee Wee to their senior year in high school. Just saying Sammons had a very good group to work with. They won several championships in the county before they got to high school whoever was coaching them.
  17. I agree the kids have to want to play but, when you live five minutes from the weight room compared to 20 to 30 minutes it takes more commitment from kids and parents in the these economic times. GC can be successful going to take some work. :thumb:
  18. Just a guess. Baker, Craft, Adkins, Williams, Hampton, & Prater. I would say 5 of the 6. LOL
  19. Bruce Hunt had a pretty good record with the freshman team that graduated last year. I believe they went undefeated when they were Frosh. SS thing is really nothing, GC has good coaches from within the county whatever end. Greenup county football does have a website I think. Someone uplaod the presentation for all to see.
  20. Yes, but jacking up three usually don't get it done, needs to be balance with a inside game.:jump:
  21. I would like to see Bruce Hunt back on the GC football staff. Very good motivator and coach when he helped a few years ago.
