Top Players in the 9th Region?
The 2 best guards IMO are Sandfoss and Allen and it is going to be fun to watch them battle in districts and region and there is a good chance we could see them do battle in the regional final.

9th region: Tournament Predictions and Outlook
Agreed but this year if you do win your district you are going to get a loser but that loser may be HHS/NCC or Boone/Ryle those are pretty tough first round games.

Ryle vs. Conner 2/24 33rd District Predictions
I think that Ryle wins this one by 10+. A very tough draw for both of these teams, this is the toughest district in the 9th.

9th region: Tournament Predictions and Outlook
So are you saying that they are going to hold back and not go at 100%?

9th region: Tournament Predictions and Outlook
When the Breds play Highlands in districts next Friday we will really know how good of a shot that they have of winning the region.

Lexington Christian Academy 74 Christian Academy-Louisville 39
Wow there must a huge difference between the #5 and #6 teams. This should never happen to Lexington Christian with having 3 very good D1 players. I don't know too much about Louisville Christian Academy but they must be a very good team. But 35 points just baffles me.

9th region: Tournament Predictions and Outlook
I agree that the injury bug has hit them hard and they just lost big to the Breds. Conner will come and put up a good fight but there is to many good teams for them to repeat.

Newport Central Catholic 59 Conner 44
IMO NCC plays better defense than any other team in the region. This is in most part because of Ron Dawn.

Newport Central Catholic 59 Conner 44
Another big win down the stretch for the Breds. Tabor had a big night with 18 and Sandfoss had her normal game with 16. What a great job Mr. Dawn has done this year from taking a team that was 13-15 last year to 20-8 this year.

9th region: Tournament Predictions and Outlook
Agreed!!! This is as strong and competitive the ninth has been in a while.

9th region: Tournament Predictions and Outlook
Agreed Highlands is by far the favorite but they will really have to earn it with so many teams playing good ball such as Ryle, Boone, NCC, and NDA. It will be fun to watch every night.

Ryle 66 Notre Dame Academy 56
With all of the issues that Ryle has had in the past couple weeks they are playing outstanding basketball and may very well be the hottest team going into the postseason.
-
Ryle 66 Notre Dame Academy 56
NDA is struggling with districts and regions approaching us very soon.
-
Ryle @ Notre Dame Predictions
Ryle by 5.

Newport Central Catholic 39 Ryle 32 (JV)
Congrats to the Breds on a great tournament.
-
Newport Central Catholic 52 Highlands 21 (JV)
Good to see the up and coming talent for the Breds.

Newport Catholic 67 Notre Dame Academy 41
Wow bigger margin than i expected. Nice win for the Breds to get back on track.
-
Lexington Catholic at Simon Kenton 2/13
WOW huge game for senior night.
-
Ryle 52 Newport Central Catholic 45
Just saw in the paper that Tabor just had 4 points, she has got to be a bigger force inside with her size if NCC is going to compete in region.

Will anyone ever approach Jaime Walz scoring record?
To score 4,385 points in three seasons is quite unbelievable. That is about 49 points a game if you guess that they play a 30 game season.
-
Will anyone ever approach Jaime Walz scoring record?
Agreed. 3 regional titles and 1994 state runner-up.
-
Will anyone ever approach Jaime Walz scoring record?
IMO, no one will ever break this record because it is so hard to play up in the 7th and 8th grades with all the good talent that's already there.

Ryle 52 Newport Central Catholic 45
I am surprised by them not pressing because they are very good at it. There have been coaches this year that said that NCC's press just baffles them, so why not press.
-
Ryle 52 Newport Central Catholic 45
Surprising because the Breds have been playing so well of late.

Boone County 52 Archbishop Alter, OH 48
Nice win by Boone Co. The 9th region in a couple weeks is going to be fun to watch.
