Henry has a way of making teams play bad, especially at Henry, but I will go with Gallatin by 7.

L1, you forgot who you are talking about. GF must be upset that GC has lost to Williamstown...... again. Balsinger (and others) did a nice job on shutting down Stith as did Wilhoit (and others) shutting down Jones. What Coach Roberts didn't expect was Wilhoit to get 25/19 against them. The same can be said about Hill getting 29 against Williamstown. That is what made the game so exciting.

I would say post defense will be on the agenda today for Coach Wilhoit and his staff!!! Hill did have a nice game. Anyone know how many rebounds or blocks she had?

Gallatin did make quite a comeback. They actually took the lead in the fourth, but Williamstown bounced back and hit some FT's late to seal the win. Both of these teams have a never quit attitude and their games recently have been physical and exciting.

Final. Soph. Tori Wilhoit scored 25 pts. and pulled down a school record 19 rebounds and Soph. Chelsea West chipped in 16 points to help the Lady Demons hold on for the win. Soph. Brooke Hill of Gallatin Co. led all scorers with 29 points.

Williamstown 50-44

Williamstown was voted as the favorite to win the All "A" by the coaches. They have a nice club. The All "A" can be won by about 5 teams this year. With it being played at Owen, I have to agree with Mr. Athletics, Owen should be the favorite. They shoot the ball well there

I think Shelby will pull this one out. South lost too many horses off of last year's squad.

On paper with everyone that WV has lost, GC should have a huge advantage. So let's say GC by 17.

No actually after the first quarter, it was pretty much over!

Williamstown went up 28-8 after the first quarter and held the lead for the rest of the game.

Without Jones and others on the team that are ill, this game could be a whole lot closer than my first prediction.

As bad as I hate to say it, I agree with you GF as long as Trimble doesn't sit back in a zone and Gallatin goes cold from the outside.

I wasn't slamming Gallatin County. They will have a solid team. They will go as Jones and Balsiger goes. Your statement about returning everyone and the younger kids are stepping up their game can also pertain to the teams I mentioned.

I must be missing something. Yes Gallatin returns everyone, but so does Henry Co. who split with GC last year. Carroll Co. returns all but Girdy (big loss though) and I believe CC swept GC last year. Williamstown returns everyone but Knarr and they took 2 out of 3 against GC. Unsure how much better GC will be then these teams I mentioned. It will be an interesting year to say the least.

I can't answer that one. I will have to ask our coach or AD. I do know there is a Northern Kentucky conference that quite a few of the larger schools play in. I think some of those include SK, Boone Co., Connor, etc..., but I could be wrong.

Due to conference schedules and district seed games, there is only a handful of other games that some teams can play. Case in point for Williamstown or Walton in the 32nd. They have to play 12 conference games (conference teams are Gallatin Co., Henry Co., Carroll Co., Owen Co., Trimble Co., Walton and Williamstown) and 4 other district games (twice against GC and twice against SK). That is a total of 16 games. That leaves 5 games to schedule, taking if there is no reciprical games to fill. For W'town, they will travel to North Oldham, Harrison Co and Sayre and will have West Jessamine and Pendleton Co coming into Williamstown to fill out their schedule this year (excluding tournaments). Even though they are not in our region, 4 of the 5 are "bigger" schools. Logistics can be another factor on why some teams in the region don't play each other. With raising costs, schools are limiting the distance that they want their teams to travel.

Curry4AD, I understand your point. I have not had the opportunity to see any of the freshmen or 8th graders play that you are talking about. It is easy for an underclassman to look pretty good when they have experienced players around them and are not the focus of teams to stop them. The tale tale sign is how these youngsters perform when they are the focal point. As for Stith, she was the focal point and seem to do pretty decent last year as a junior. I think she averaged somewhere around 16 points and 6-7 rebounds per game. This is just my opinion. As Lunatic1 sometimes says, maybe I am just a HOMER!!!!

Have you seen her play? She would be a nice player for quite a few teams in the 8th.
